I gotta tell ya, I want a redo of 2012. I was so sick all last week, I just want to forget about it and get a start over! I seem to be firing on a 6 cylinders today, so here we go! First, Iet's congratulate my friend James Munky Shaffer on his Jan 2nd wedding to actress Evis Xhenetis. (When I first met her, I thought she said her name was Elvis!) The couple tied the knot in Paris at a 200 yr old church on the Seine River with a handful of friends and family members in attendance (and judging from the size of the wedding cake, you will know there could've been that many people there!) A tropical honeymoon is planned. I wish them many years of happiness. See pix at Radaronline.com or today's Blabbermouth….Pulse of Radio reports Metallica has posted a message at its official website confirming recent reports the band is working on a 3D movie. The message read, “You may have noticed a couple of mentions in trade publications, and most recently in the new issue of Rolling Stone, that a Metallica 3D movie is in the works. We're here to tell you that, yes, there is indeed a 3D project in the very early stages of production! We wish we could tell you more right now, but we don't have all the finer points nailed down just yet. What we can tell you is that we are planning on being in a theatre near you sometime in 2013 . . . this will be the space for all the details as we finalize them.” Entertainment industry website Deadline first broke the news in October that Metallica was looking to self-finance its own 3D feature film, and had hired Hollywood producer Charlotte Huggins to develop the project for them. There was no indication at the time as to whether the project is a concert film, a documentary or even a dramatic feature. More in the coming months…..Was happy to see Sevendust's Morgan Rose and Clint Lowery are working on a new project called Call Me No One. Although I am not crazy about the name, Clint said the new venture is “very exciting.” Will have to find out more….Howard Jones, who recently left Killswitch Engage, fessed up the reasons as to why he decided to leave. First, health issues. He has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes that was unchecked for many years (people, annual physical = very important!) which was one of the issues, but mostly he wasn't excited about the band's new album or the notion of touring. So he left. We wish him well. He's a very funny guy and I hope he finds means of support, whether it's music or something else…..Here's one for the “What ever happened to” Files: Lostprophets are planning to release a new album in the UK. “Weapons” drops Apr 02 and the band is offering a free download of a song called “Better Off Dead.” Check out today's RockAccess.net for the link….12 Stones will drop “Only Human” on Mar 27th (I think every band is dropping a new album that day! Geesh!)….Happy 68th to Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Happy 45th to Carl Bell of Fuel.
