Slash told a DC radio station he has no idea what will go down when all the original members of Guns N' Roses are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, there's the anticipation of a reunion on-stage of the original members and possibly a song or two. Could it turn into a string of shows or special appearances by various members with the current line-up? Who knows?! Last Friday when I was on the hotLine with Lars Ulrich, I asked the Metallica drummer who he thought the appropriate person would be to induct them. Without hesitation, “Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.” What a great idea! Of course, I passed that along to Slash's manager. Who knows. Axl calls the shots. I guess it's whoever he thinks is right. As mentioned the other day, Slash will drop a new song on Monday called “You're A Lie.” It wasn't one of the 3 songs I had previously heard from the forthcoming “Apocalyptic Love” album. And I am happy the name of the band is no longer “Slash” but Slash Featuring Mylkes Kennedy and The Conspirators. (OK, it is a mouthful) Anyhow, more on all this GNR bizniz as we hear it….My Texas buddies The Toadies are releasing a live EP on May 8th called “Play.Rock.Music.” ….My Darkest Days “Sick & Twisted Affair,” changed it's release date to Mar 27, but that might bump up one day…..12 Stones have changed the title for their upcoming album from “Only Human” to “Beneath the Scars.” I will have Paul McCoy in the hardDrive studio on Tuesday….Janus will be in on March 1st….Seems Thrice is doing a massive “Farewell Tour” before they go on hiatus. I saw that in Rock Access and have posted the tour in Road Rage….Also posted there is the upcoming Fair to Midland tour with Dead Letter Circus and a new band I'll have to check out called Lionize. I love FTM and will be looking forward to seeing who their new drummer and bass player are working out. I like this Dead Letter Circus and they did a fine video behind their song called “One Step,” and just watched their vid for “Cage.” Check this band out. These are the bands of the new face of rock that's out there that deserve to be heard. We get occasional requests for FTM, with a lot of folks thinking we've never played them, but hardDrive was the first national show to pay them any mind about 4 years ago and played stuff from their last album, too. Listen for Dead Letter Circus on the show in the coming weeks…..Happy 60th to my ole pal Bradley Whitford of Aerosmith, who turns 60 today! Wait, I'm older than YOU?!!!! WT?????????
