Wanted to start out today with an update on the Five Finger Death Punch “Remember Everything” Contest. With nearly 500 of your stories for the band to read, and I gotta tell ya, many of these stories are super heavy and emotional, the band has got their hands full trying to figure out who our winners will be! So we're waiting, as you are, for the announcement of our grand prize winner and 4 runner-ups. And getting the members of the band to read them and agree on the winners will also be a feat! SO, please be patient. We are also waiting for the band to sort out the details of their summer tour, so when all the planets are aligned, we will be able to announce our winners and the tour markets for their summer headlining tour. As soon as we know, YOU'LL know!….Slow news day today, my friends. Watched Korn's Jonathan Davis as his “alter ego” J Devil, performing his song “Evilution.” He has an EP in the works which will be out this summer. I saw the video on Blabbermouth. Listen for JD to talk about J Devil on upcoming editions of hardDrive and hardDrive XL! ….Apparently Paul Shaffer, you know him as the band leader on the David Letterman show, has tweeted that SO FAR there is no Guns 'N Roses performance planned at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions ceremony on April 14th in Cleveland. Paul knows this because he is the band leader for the Hall of Fame shows. But don't panic, just because TODAY there is no word about the band performing, doesn't mean there WON'T be one. I think there is a 50-50 chance so far there will be a performance with the original members. I've also heard conflicting reports as to whether one of the members (side member) of the band will attend. So, essentially, there is no news there. Today. Maybe next week…..Was on the hotLine yesterday with Stephen Richards of Taproot. Excited about the new album, “The Episodes,” due Apr 10, Stephen told me this record is a conceptual one and the band is headed to Chicago this weekend to film the video for “No Surrender.” It story is based on a group of friends who wake up on a Sunday morning and wonder what happened the night before. Sounds interesting. I also didn't know he was living in Las Vegas now with his wife and young son Gage. Looking forward to see Taproot when they come through on tour this spring…..Celebrating birthdays: Today: Shannon Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars is 42. Saturday, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament turns 49 and Breaking Benjamin's Ben Burnley turns 34. Wonder what he's up to??? And on Sunday, I bet there's a big ass party either in Arlington Texas or Las Vegas Nevada for our buddy Vinnie Paul of HellYeah and Pantera, who turns 48. Grab a Black Tooth shot on Sunday and toast the man!…Have a great weekend! Next week coming out to the hardDrive studios or hotLine: Shinedown, Adrenalin Mob and Deuce.
