Good Monday morning peeps. Here's the news. Saw this on Pulse of Radio: Ex-Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan has told RollingStone.com there has been “no communication” about the original members of the band performing together next month when the group is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Asked if he knew what was going to happen at the ceremony, McKagan answered, “I don't. I know I'm going to go. I can't, at all, speak for anybody else. And won't. I'll be there with bells on.” But he added, “There's been no communication about anyone playing. There was probably a day in the mid-1990s where I would have tried to gather the troops, but I'm just not that guy anymore. It's too frustrating to change anyone else . . . I'm not even sure I'd want to change how anyone else sees a situation. On whether he hoped that the original lineup would perform together at the event, McKagan said, “I think it would be killer. Do I hope to? That's a tricky question. It would be awesome. You have those day dreams like, 'We'll go up and play “Nightrain” and “Brownstone” and throw down the microphone and drop off! That'll be killer!' But I doubt that'll happen.” Slash will be in the hardDrive studios on Mon, Mar 26, so we will be asking him what the latest is. I really hope this “reunion” of the fellows plants a seed in Axl's brain. Although, isn't a reunion a “no-brainer” at this point? What do you think???…..Tom Morello was really pissed when he discovered radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh used Rage Against the Machine's “Sleep Now in the Fire” on his show as bumper music. Tom tweeted and commented this in RollingStone.com: “Hey Jackass! Stop using our music on your racist, misogynist, right win clown show!” Meanwhile, other artists, Rush (the band), Fabulous Thunderbirds and Peter Gabriel also sent messages to remove their music from the blowhard's show, with Rush (the band) threatening legal action! Take THAT!…..The Black Keys must be stoked! NCAA spots all over the tube are using their song “Gold on the Ceiling” to spotlight the NCAA March Madness. Nice! I'll have a chat with Dan Auerbach in a couple of weeks so stay tuned for that. Wonder who they're rooting for? I haven't started my brackets, but since I'm an upstater, I will definitely be rooting for the Orange of Syracuse…..Alter Bridge's CD/DVD, “Live @ Wembley” comes out March 26, but it is already # 2 on the Blu-Ray Music Video and Concerts Charts behind Adele. Nice going Alter Bridge! Meanwhile Mark Tremonti is working on his solo record, and Myles Kennedy also has one in the works, while also getting ready to gear up for touring with Slash. Meanwhile Brian Marshall is cool. He's at his resort, note HIS RESORT, in Costa Rica for the winter. Must be nice!….When Foo Fighters get the bugs out of their old skool cassette player at foofighters.com, we will be able to hear their Reading Festival show from 1995! That's crazy! I love that they use older methods of music players on their site, like they did the old time car radio when “Wasting Light” was getting ready to come out. Hey, there's still artists, like Tom Morello, who still use their trusty cassette recorders to make demos. Analog, baby!….Happy 34th today to Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria. Have a great one!
