Heading over to Madison Square Garden today to interview Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and looking forward to it. Still time to get your questions in to me via the email link at harddriveradio.com!….Well, I am sad to report the hoped for Guns N' Roses original band reunion will not take place at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Apr 14th in Cleveland, OH. It really bums me out this won't be the historic event we were all looking forward to. I am sure the other members are not happy about it, and of course, Axl doesn't care about what the MILLIONS of GNR fans out there of the original band think. Let me go on record, and I don't dis people, but AXL, you're a schmuck!….Big news on the net yesterday was a tweet from Disturbed's David Draiman informing the world he is working on a solo project with former Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo. (Geno most recently did the latest soundtrack to “Underworld” and I thought it was really good.) Anyhow, the cell phone I had for David is invalid now, so I am reaching out to his manager to see if I can get him on the phone to discuss. Stay tuned…..Remember, today (tonight in Berlin, this afternoon in America) Marilyn Manson will perform “The Beautiful People” with Rammstein and you can find it streaming live at http://www.DasErste.de. The site is in German, but just type in ECHO 2012 and look for the live stream link at around 3:15 PM today Eastern. (It's live tonight at 8:15 in Berlin.) Did I tell you about Manson's cover of Carly Simon's “You're So Vain” with Johnny Depp that'll be on the new “Born Villain” album? Nutty. (Wonder if this could mean an interview with Johnny! Oh stop by beating heart!) ….Linkin Park are working away on their next album coming out in later this summer. It will NOT have all the programming bells and whistles this time. When Mike Shinoda was in the hardDrive studios about a year and a half ago, I was asking if he thought the next record might be scaled back, more organic, more guitars, more “live.” And I guess it is happening, although Chester Bennington has said along with more guitars, there will be an added heavy electronic wall of sound. I like that idea. Let's see what we get! And the band does plan to tour later this summer too!….Corey Taylor tweeted Stone Sour is starting “construction” of the next record and it's “gonna be a mother********* monster!” I wonder if this is gonna be the concept record he was mentioning a while back. We'll have to wait N see….UK's Metal Hammer magazine is locking horns with Metallica's fan club mag, So What? to do a 128-page mega-issue that will be available everywhere in May to honor the Bay Area band's 30th Anniversary. I bet it will be great.…OH! And to get back to Slash for a moment, he's coming to the hardDrive studios on Monday. Deuce and Candlebox are here on Tuesday! Send in your questions for them to me via the email link on the home page. And I was on the phone yesterday with Call Me No One's Morgan Rose! I gotta tell ya, their new songs I heard (with Clint Lowery on vocals/guitar) were OUTSTANDING, including the single “Biggest Fan.” That song reminds me of Foo Fighters! I also heard the title track, “Last Parade.” Lou Brutus will be on the hotLine with Morgan next week, so be listening for all of these great interviews in the coming weeks on the world famous hardDrive and hardDrive XL with Lou Brutus! …..Happy 81st today to William Shatner and Happy 35th to John Otto of Limp Bizkit!
