Man, I can NOT believe I got another infection in my chest. Started the year off with it, and now it’s back! Thought it was wicked bad allergy attack, but I am on way to MD. Bummed out especially ‘cuz I’m missing my scheduled interview with Mastodon’s Brann Dailor and Bill Kelleher. Argh! Gonna miss their gig tonight, too. Double ARGH! We’ll catch up with them in person in May at Rock on the Range.….Well, as expected the rumors are true. Meanwhile, don’t forget tonight is Revolver’s Golden Gods Awards in LA and the show will open with a video of the song at 10:55 PM ET/7:55 PM PT on the Revolver or XBox Live Facebook pages….Rob Zombie told Artist Direct this new album he’s getting ready to record starting Jun 1st is the first he’s ever done specifically designed to be totally heavy! (I mean, I think his records have been heavy, don’t you?) Zombie explained, “Usually, we don’t really have a focus when we make a record. We go in and start writing songs, and it goes where it’s going to go. We let it go that way. This time, we sort of made a pact that we’re going to make a heavy record on purpose and stick to that goal.” Zombie added any songs which don’t fit that mandate won’t make it to the record, saying, “We just want to make a dark, heavy, weird record and stick to that idea.” …Mark Tremonti introduced his band in a short video clip online. Eric Friedman (guitars) and Garrett Whitlock (drums) from Submersed and Brian Marshall (Alter Bridge/Creed) on bass. I’ve said it before, I think this record is gonna blow you away! It’s great! Look for Mark’s solo “All I Was” cd out later this spring or early summer….Gotta dash to the MD’s. More tomorrow.
