Down has a tour coming up starting this week, and the band will be releasing 4 EPs (wonder if this is just the tip of the iceberg on where bands are going with music. Seems we aren’t buying full cds anymore.) He’s also working on his first solo album, a record with War Beast, Harp, he still has his other band Super Joint Ritual too. And, like me, he’s bummed about the New Orleans’ Saints penalties for the bounty fiasco. We’ll be interviewing Phil in person at Rock on the Range. Looking forward to checking out the new and improved Philip….Hey, did ya see those pictures of Tom Cruise as his next film role is the lead character in the Broadway spin-off of “Rock of Ages“? We were just serviced with a cover version of Def Leppard‘s “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Tom, and well, I just don’t know what to think. It’s just preposterous! And he’s sporting a mullet!….Just working my brains out getting ready for Rock on the Range. It is one of the most grueling two days for Lou Brutus and me. Yeah, you think the life of running around talking to rock stars is awesome, but some days, it’s really hard work! I need me one of those segway wheelie things. Plus the weather is gonnna be hot as hell. I will be finding my way to as many air conditioned tour buses and dressing rooms as possible! LOL. And interviews will also be heard on the XL the week of Jun 04….Happy 47th today to Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and Happy 38th to my pal Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D.
