I still could sleep another whole day to recover from Rock on the Range 2012! It was fun and exhausting. Got to watch a couple of bands including Halestorm, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon, and Foxy Shazam from the stage. Hung out with Cristina from Lacuna Coil (she got her hair cut by Scott Dowers, love him!) and sat with Phil Anselmo for about 90 minutes to talk about Vulgar Display of Power and more. It was very cool, since I was previously very afraid of him. Be listening for a 20th anniversary show on Pantera later this summer…..Lou Brutus introduced 7 of the bands on the bill over the weekend including Foxy Shazam, Theory of A Deadman, Redlight King, In This Moment, Lacuna Coil, The Darkness and Otherwise. We had a great time catching up with friends. Next year, the promoter from AEG Live has asked me to spearhead a couple of radio programmer panels to help support rock music over the air! We’ll be doing the same this year at the 48 Hour Festival in late Sep in Vegas. More to come….James Hetfield told RollingStone.com he has 864 riffs ready to start the next Metallica album! What??!! Only 864?….Papa Roach, oh if only they could be the headliner for the hardDrive Live Tour this fall! They have a new album coming out in Sep and Jacoby said the goal was “to flip people out!” Look for him later this summer on the RockStar upRoar tour with Shinedown, Staind, Godsmack, P.O.D and more…Carnival of Madness will kick off this summer with Evanescence, Chevelle, Halestorm, New Medicine and more. See Road Rage….Slash‘s “Apocalyptic Love” drops today! Was great seeing him and Myles and I met the Conspirators over lunch on Saturday. Tonight his show will be streamed live on the net starting at around 9 PM ET from NYC’s Irving Plaza….There’s a rumor that Billie Joe Armsrong perfomed on Saturday at the wedding of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s wedding at his home in Silicon Valley. Armstrong performed “Last Night on Earth.” Nice….Sevendust have added some dates in Road Rage…..Be listening for all the great interviews Lou Brutus did Backstage at Rock on the Range 2012 the first two weekends in June for harddrive. And on hardDrive XL starting Jun 4. More later!
