I’ve got something I need your help with. We want to put together a killer contest to send you to one of the stops on the 2012 Rockstar Uproar Tour. (See the dates on the Road Rage page.) You know how many of these flyaways we do. Besides two primo tix and VIP passes, hotel and airfaire, what would be a contest YOU would put together if you could? Hang out with a band? Stand on the side of the stage during a performance? Eat lunch with a band? Interview one of the members? What would it be? It’s up to you! Email me via the INTERACT link on the home page and let me know TODAY! Don’t wait! Do it now!…..Pulse of Radio reports Corey Taylor of Stone Sour/Slipknot told Kerrang! the recording sessions for the 4th Stone Sour album are just about complete. He told the British magazine at this past weekend’s Download festival in Castle Donington, England the album just needs a few finishing touches — inlcuding, getting a comic book treatment. Taylor said, “It’s nearly done. We have about a week left of recording. I have a handful of vocals that I need to finish up. And then it’s just going in and finishing up some guitars, some ear candy here and there. But it’s fantastic. It’s so immense. It’s probably the biggest thing that I’ve tried to do. There’s a lot of multimedia involved. There’s a whole story that’s gonna go along with the albums. And it’s all under wraps right now. There’s gonna be a bunch of big announcements next week that I’m gonna unleash on Twitter, and I’m just gonna start giving people more information, including the titles. But we’re actually working on getting a comic together for DC Comics. We’re trying to figure out how we can do it. And they’ve never done anything like this before, so it’s gonna take some time. But hopefully… We’re definitely gonna have a digital version up online and then probably a couple of months later the hard-copy version. So as a comic fan, I’m kind of losing my s*** right now.” That is pretty awesome! Lou Brutus will be on the hotLine on Thursday with Jim Root , and Corey next week, so we will be getting some inside poop for ya soon! ….Also while at Download, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, when asked about what his band’s forthcoming album sounds like, he said, “It’s kind of hard to describe. It’s sort of like picking up where we left off. There’s a lot of different feels on the album. We’re a band where every single member contributes music. So that creates diversity and a lot of different songwriter partnerships and things that we only do as a group. I think it’s a very rich album with a lot of different moods to it.” Previously he had told Seattle radio station KISW fans should not think of “Live To Rise” as an indication of what the rest of the group’s new record will sound like. He explained, “Some of the songs on our new album are pretty far left of center, and sort of zero in on more of a hardcore Soundgarden fan and not necessarily a family that goes to see a film like that. Although [‘Live To Rise’ is] not really what I think of as a necessarily family-friendly song, but it’s as close as we’ve ever come.” No set schedule for the band yet, so stay tuned. (Thanks Blabbermouth)…Slash can’t seem to rack up enough tributes or awards this year, can he? Next on his agenda is a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the Hollywood Boulevard Hard Rock Cafe. The ceremony is set for Jul 10, hosted by Charlie Sheen (who is a neighbor and pal of Slash.) A private acoustic performance is planned for 300 people to attend where proceeds from the entry fee will go to the Los Angeles Youth Network and the Hollywood Historic Trust (which runs the Walk of Fame.)….Black Veil Brides plan to begin recording their next album in July and hope to complete in August. No release schedule has been announced….Meanwhile, I have been remiss in mentioning this tour, but the Vans Warped Tour, America’s longest running rock festival since 1985 is back and kicks off on Saturday.
