Hope you had a great weekend. Spent it in Massachusetts with family and friends. Did a walk at Walden Pond. I can see how Thoreau was inspired! Was nice to be in woods instead of surrounded by concrete and steel…..Sad news today about Jack Osbourne. He has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The 26-year-old told People magazine he received the devastating news just two weeks after he and his fiance Lisa Stelly welcomed their daughter Pearl. He recalled his reaction to the news, telling People magazine, “I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, ‘Why now?’ I’ve got a family and that’s what’s supposed to be the most important thing.” MS is an auto-immune disease which affects the central nervous system and can cause problems with muscle control and strength, vision, balance, feeling, and thinking. The disease affects people differently in each case, with some people having only minor problems, while others become seriously disabled. I know someone who was diagnosed over 10 years ago and she is doing great! Had her second child less than 2 years ago and looks and feels fabulous. We hope Jack’s is just as mild. His first symptom is he has lost vision in one of his eyes….And it’s also time to say a prayer for Chi Cheng. Pulse of Radio reports Deftones bassist has been diagnosed with pneumonia, according to a post by his family at the One Love For Chi website. The bass player, who has been in a semi-comatose state since being injured in a November 2008 car accident, was just brought home after treatment at a recovery center in New Jersey. The post read, “Shout out to Chi’s worldwide family — prayer request — he just got back home last night from N.J. and is in ER with something serious going on. Pneumonia and don’t know what else. Not good! Please send the word again to pray hard. Thank you all! One love.” At press time, a later post said that Cheng had been moved to the ICU and was on three antibiotics, with his blood pressure and oxygen levels both low. His mother later posted that he was on life support and a breathing machine, although doctors were hoping to move him off the machine on today (Jun 18th). P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval, a close friend of Cheng and his family, later wrote on Twitter, “Spoke with Chi’s mom. He really needs our prayers. He’s in ICU and still fighting. God’s will be done!” ….Red Hot Chili Peppers announced today they would unveil 18 previously unreleased sides from the I’m With You sessions.
