Can’t wait for this tour!….Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea revealed via Twitter yesterday (Aug 6th) the first of nine singles the band is releasing, each containing two previously unreleased tracks from the sessions for their 2011 album I’m With You, will roll out Friday (Aug 10th) instead of the previously announced date of Aug 14th. The first pair of tracks to be released are “Strange Man” and “Long Progression.” Drummer Chad Smith told us why the group decided to issue this material now: “We just wanted them to come out because we just really like ’em and they would have got lost in the — they would have waited for the, like, you know, the Warner Bros. box set in 2020, if there’s even a record company around then, who knows. So we didn’t want them to get lost.” Each single will be available worldwide both digitally and on vinyl, with two songs per seven-inch disc. The second single — “Magpies” and “Victorian Machinery” — is scheduled to come out on Sep 11th, 2012. The third pair arrives on Oct 2nd. The fourth, fifth and sixth pairs will show up on Nov 6th, Dec 4th and 18th respectively, with the final two releases coming in early 2013….If you’re in NYC, ya gotta make it on Sep 07th to the Gramercy Theater to see Metal Masters 4. The hugely popular night of metal is performed by this amazing ensemble this year: Kerry King and Dave Lombardo of Slayer, Phil Anselmo, Frankie Bello, Scott Ian, Charlie Benante of Anthrax, Bad Boy Billy Sheehan of Mr Big/David Lee Roth’s band, and Gary Holt of Exodus/Slayer. It will be off the hook for sho’….Bullet For My Valentine officially announced via Twitter yesterday they have completed the recording process for their next album. Matt Tuck tweeted they’re “a very confident, focused rock band!” Nice!….Former Five Finger Death Punch members Matt Snell (bassist) and Darrell Roberts (guitarist) have joined up with former Nonpoint guitarist Zack Broderick and drummer Jeff Fabb (In This Moment/James Durbin) (whoa dude, eat a burger, will ya?)
