But now the group has added a third gig on Monday (Aug 27th) in order to do some additional shooting for the movie, and according to a post at Metallica’s official website, tickets for that show will cost just five dollars. The post reads in part, “We will be running though the full live show one last time at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, but unlike the Friday and Saturday shows, there will be lots of breaks in it to allow for cameras and lights to be repositioned as the director sees fit. Since it is way more fun for us to have YOU there, tickets will be available for just $5 (no extra fees or service charges!) and all the proceeds will benefit the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.” Nice!…Had a great chat yesterday with Adam Gontier from Three Days Grace. Good stuff to keep an eye out for….System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has revealed that he is no longer a member of Scars On Broadway, the band he started with System guitarist Daron Malakian in 2006 after System went on hiatus. Dolmayan said, “I’m no longer involved with Scars on Broadway, but Daron is, and is in the process of making, recording and releasing an album. So, you will definitely hear some Scars on Broadway within the next four or five months. . . And it’s a good album, by the way.” Scars On Broadway’s debut album, released in 2008, was a commercial failure, although rumors of the band coming back started around 2010. The group has played sporadically around Los Angeles. (Loudwire)….The original version of Green Day‘s massive 1997 hit single, “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” has surfaced online. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong wrote the song back in 1990 but didn’t show it to the rest of the band until 1994. The first recording of the song appeared in 1995 as the B-side of the German single for “Brain Stew/Jaded.” That original version is faster, sung in a different key and doesn’t feature a string section. Check it out below. (A Journal Of Musical Things)….Happy 44th today to Spider One, Michael Cummings, of Powerman 5000. And Happy 44th to Andreas Kisser of Sepultura!
