Well, end of August and that means one thing! The US Open comes to town! More traffic jams in midtown! Yeah! And football pre-season is on! Giants have injuries, Jets can’t seem to win a game, and the Saints may have to leave town again! Oh boy! To all our Louisiana, Gulf Coast Mississippi, Alabama and Florida friends, batton down the hatches, board up the windows and head for the hills! We are all praying Isaac slows down and doesn’t leave a wake like Katrina, which, oddly enough, happened 7 years ago this week! Crazy, eh?….New interview video’s been posted with Mark Tremonti on the hardDriveLiveTour.com site! Check it out! ….Well, it is official Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach had his vocal cord surgery and can not talk, let alone sing, for 6-8 weeks! The good news is he is back on the wagon and back with his wife Kelly. So he will be in good hands as he heals. So the remaining Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar dates will be minus one band and the other mainstage bands, Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind and Adelitas Way all get longer sets. I had heard P.O.D. were moving to mainstage, but that was not the case. So the rest of the bill remains the same…..Hello! Magazine Canada has the newly engaged Chad and Avril (Chavril perhaps?) on the cover! Check it out here! The story says Chad proposed to her in the studio (he is producing her album) by slipping a page into her studio scrap book that said “Will You Marry Me?” Come on, Avril, you’re 27 years old and you still make scrap books??!! Really??!!! Oh man! Still having a hard time wrapping my head around this one….Pulse of Radio reports a new Rage Against The Machine Tumblr page has been launched, inviting fans to submit “concert photos, video, stories, news clippings, posters, flyers, reviews — any memorabilia. Anything you have related to RATM from 1992, we’ll post here.” The page has been started to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the arrival of the band’s self-titled debut album, which was released in November 1992. Oh how I wish they would get back into the studio! Aren’t there enough issues to be addressed? Come on, Zack! Make it happen! The mere fact of all this talent sitting idle has me crazy! The world needs new Rage Against the Machine music!….Over on Blabbermouth, Munky from Korn was interviewed by a Russian music journalist about the band’s current European trek. Mudvayne’s Ryan Martinie is sitting in on the trek for Fieldy while his wife Dena is about to give birth to their second child. Munky was asked about what plans the band has for their 20th anniversary and he said he would like to see the band get some of the bands together who were on the Family Values Tours and do a big destination festival, which could be cool! Maybe some of the original band members would make appearances too? Only time will tell on that. They’ve got a year or so to work on it. Meanwhile, Munky’s side project Fear & The Nervous System is officially releasing their album on Sep 18th, with a music video coming sometime soon….Happy 59th today to Alex Lifeson of Rush and Happy 6-0 to Pee Wee Herman, aka Paul Reubens!
