Yesterday I was on the hotLine with Revolver mag’s Hottest Chick in Hard Rock, the amazing Lzzy Hale of Halestorm! And it was funny, since I only received my copy of the magazine in the mail as I left for work yesterdaym and when I looked at the cover, I had to do a double take! Is that Lzzy??? She looked so “home girl”! I liked it. I guess as an “older rock chick,” when I see pix of some of these other Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock, I have to say, are they from Hooters? They don’t look like serious players. I mean no disrespect, but no one looks that well “put together” and does rock in a serious manner without a gimmick of some sort. I dunno, like I said, I’ve been around for a long time, and I’ve seen it all. But I guess it’s a ploy to sell mags to dudes! Anyhow, back to Lzzy. She is so great. I feel like she’s the younger sister I never had. She’s honest and real and I doubt she will ever let the business get to her and become some rock diva. Be listening for Halestorm on both hardDrive and the XL in the coming weeks and see Halestorm on the Carnival of Madness tour now….Deftones are nearly completed with work on their new album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (they’ve been in the mixing stages) and apparently they have a custom when they complete an album, they go off to another studio to record a few cover songs (thank you very much!) This year, it’s rumored they’ll cover songs by Elvis Presley and Earth, Wine & Fire. Interesting. Can’t wait to hear that stuff! Tentatively, the album could be released sometime in October. Man, that will be a huge month for new albums from Three Days Grace and Stone Sour already! And later this year, major artists like Rob Zombie, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath and in the new year, Alice in Chains, tool, nine inch nails and Pearl Jam. So now, who said “Rock was Dead?“… 10 Years have announced a new tour.
