I can’t wait!….Green Day played a two-and-a-half hour show at NYC’s Irving Plaza on Saturday night (Sep 15th) to promote the launch of a new music streaming service from Nokia. According to Loudwire, the marathon set spanned the punk trio’s entire career and contained nearly 40 songs, including classics, rarities, hits and covers of AC/DC‘s “Highway to Hell,” Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train,” the Rolling Stones‘ “Satisfaction” and the Isley Brothers‘ “Shout.” The band also performed a handful of tunes from the upcoming Uno!, including “Oh, Love,’ “Nuclear Family” and “Let Yourself Go.” The disc, the first of three new records from the trio, arrives next Tuesday (Sep 25th). The next two after that, Dos! and Tre!, come out on Nov 13th and Jan 15th respectively. Green Day will headline New Orleans’ Voodoo Experience next month, and will then head out on a major North American tour beginning on Nov 26th in Seattle, with dates also booked in Dec, Jan and Feb….Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of Alice in Chains will honor their close friends Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart at their upcoming induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The guys will both give testimonials at the Sep 25th ceremony. Inez once played bass in Heart’s touring lineup, while Cantrell has known the sisters for years as part of the Seattle music community. Heart will receive the 2,481st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the event will take place in front of the Musician’s Institute, where a number of other music artists have their stars.
