Boy, I was commenting on Dan Donegan‘s Facebook today about the horrible state of the NFL substitute refs and it made me think how over the top ridiculous this is! Hey Commissioner, are you watching these games? Consider this: Since you are allowing these fill in refs to make it up as they go along, why not temporarily change the coaches’ challenge rule of losing a T/O in order to review these calls properly! When there is a discrepancy on the field with regards to a ref’s call, GO WATCH THE VIDEO TAPE! That’s why they have this option! USE IT! Teams are relying on fair and correct calls. No wonder all these coaches are going BALLISTIC! If the big boy league rules are too much for these college refs, admit they are unsure and go watch some tape! Sure, it will make the games longer, but at least teams won’t be credited with scores or get ones taken away that aren’t justified. I am sure I am not the only fan who is scratching their head about this mess……Bummed yesterday when the manager of Korn told me Jonathan Davis has dropped out of his opening slot on the upcoming Twins Of Evil tour, starring co-headliners Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. Davis, who was supposed to perform as his DJ alter ego JDevil, is suffering from exhaustion following Korn’s recent eight-week overseas trek. A statement issued by his management said, “We know how much he was looking forward to going out with his good friends Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, performing as JDevil for their crowd. We anticipate a full recovery.” Meanwhile, Korn’s manager was married on Friday in Bel Air, CA. Members of Korn and Jane’s Addiction were there (Janes actually performed) and even former Korn member Head was there (and spoke!) Wonderers are wondering, is a reunion with Head in the stars? Are the planets aligning? I hope so…..Avenged Sevenfold released “Carry On” yesterday which will appear on the new Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The game is set for a Nov 13th release. Hoping to get one of the boys on the hotLine soon to catch up with what they’re up to!….Kid Rock will release a new album on Nov 19th called Rebel Soul. The disc, Rock’s ninth studio album, will follow up 2010’s Born Free and is described by a press release as a “return to form” for “the premier genre-hopping rock and roller of all time.” Rock has produced the new disc himself after working with Rick Rubin on Born Free. The first single, “Let’s Ride,” is due at radio on Monday, with more news on touring and promotion to follow soon…..10 Years bassist Lewis Cosby is sitting out the current leg of the band’s Cutting Like Knives tour as he is waiting at home in Knoxville for the birth of his first child. Replacing him for this run is Fair To Midland bass player Ryan Collier, whose own group opened for 10 Years earlier this summer. 10 Years is currently on the road with the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and is supporting its latest album, Minus The Machine, which features the single “Backlash.” The tour’s next stop is in Madison, WI tonight…..Godsmack was joined onstage by Staind singer Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok at the Sep 16th Dallas stop on the Rockstar Uproar Festival Tour for a run through Pantera‘s “This Love.” Members of other acts on the bill, including P.O.D., joined on backing vocals as the song progressed. Also joining in was Rita Haney, longtime girlfriend of late Pantera guitarist and Dallas resident “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Godsmack singer Sully Erna closed out the song by saying, “Rest in peace Dimebag Darrell, we miss you.” Uproar ends this weekend in Albuquerque, NM…Congrats to Linkin Park for being the first rock band to hit ONE BILLION views on YouTube!
