Sad but true, tonight is the final night of the hardDrive Live 2012 Tour down in Shreveport, LA at the Riverside Warehouse with our station KTUX, 99X! We are so proud to have presented Mark Tremonti‘s first solo tour and it has been a rousing success! Not to mention at Wednesday night’s show in Kansas City, one Eddie Van Halen was in the audience to watch his son perform with Mark and company! It was the first time Eddie got to see his kid play with a band other than Van Halen! Wolfgang tweeted after the show, “So glad my pop got to see the Tremonti gig tonight in KC!” Eddie has been recuperating from surgery for a severe bout of diverticulitis, which forced Van Halen to stay off the road for the next four to six months. Many thanks to Mark, Eric, Garrett, Wolfie, Daniel, Tim, Man the Mighty, Fret 12, PRS, Mike, Billy and the whole touring crew for their fantastic shows and work! We are already working towards our next hardDrive Live Tours for 2013, one definitely kicks off April 1st, but I can not say who’s on it just yet! But it is another BIG ONE! And I am hearing the Sno-Core Tourmight be returning after an absence since 2010. Stay tuned!……Pulse of Radio had this: Is a new Rage Against The Machine album in the works? Probably not, but that didn’t stop bassist Tim Commerford from having some fun with the ever-gullible cameramen of TMZ.com. Asked outside a cafe in Malibu, California if the band was planning on bringing out a new album, Commerford teased, “Maybe . . . maybe.” The bassist then quickly changed the subject to his missing front tooth, which he touted as the result of his new hobby: “removing teeth.” Even though Rage Against The Machine reunited in 2007, the band has never given any indication that it plans to write or record new material. As late as last year, guitarist Tom Morello told us that a new album was not on the quartet’s agenda: “Right now there are no — you know, the band is not writing songs, the band is not in the studio. We get along famously and we all, you know, intend to do more Rage Against The Machine stuff in the future, but beyond sort of working out a concert this year, there’s nothing else on the schedule.” Oh we can always dream, can’t we???…Hellyeah just announced a huge tour. See Road Rage….Man, I was reading a story about Scott Stapp of Creed, who’s promoting his new autobiography “Sinner’s Creed.” Back several years ago when he was on a huge drug binge, he was holed up in Miami’s Delano Hotel. The rooms there are all white and he was hallucinating after being up for 3 days and thought the police were coming. He decided to vacate the room via the balcony, falling 40 feet. Luckily, rapper T.I. recognized him and saved his life! Man, that’s insane! I gotta check out that book!….Stone Sour has posted a snippet of “A Rumor of Skin” on SoundCloud.
