Ha! Today is 10-11-12. Love that!…Poor Pete Loeffler of Chevelle! He was injured on Monday night (Oct 8th) when he tumbled off the front of the stage during the band’s show in Tucson, AZ. According to Loudwire, Loeffler managed to return to finish the set after a brief delay although he was seated for the remainder of the gig. He was taken to a local hospital after the concert and given X-rays. Although no broken bones were detected, the singer/guitarist had a knee brace applied to keep things stable. The band thanked fans who stayed for the rest of the show via Twitter, saying that Loeffler “damaged his knee bad tonight.” Despite the swelling in the knee, Chevelle did not expect to postpone any of the remaining shows on its current tour, although it was likely Loeffler would play the rest of the dates on the schedule while seated. The trio is slated to perform on Thursday night (Oct 11th) in Reno. Man, I know knee pain. Hope he doesn’t have any lingering problems…Pulse of Radio also reports Godsmack singer Sully Erna will release a limited edition box set version of his 2010 solo album Avalon later this year. The set, limited to 5,000 copies, will include a full performance of the Avalon record taped at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre last December, a documentary called Sully Erna: Journey To Avalon, a Making of Avalon Live featurette, a bloopers CD, the album itself, and more. The package will also contain collectibles such as a coffee table book, a hat, a T-shirt, guitar pick, poster, incense, Erna’s biography, a commemorative backstage pass, and a necklace. The entire set comes in a custom metal Erna-engraved box with a suede lining. Several copies will include golden tickets that will give the winners a chance to join Erna on all-expense paid trips to Las Vegas, Catalina Island, Napa, New York, and Boston. Awesome! I saw one of the solo shows and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was!…..Green Day may be out of sight due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong‘s current trip to rehab, but the band is finding other ways to keep itself in the public eye. The trio’s music will be used as the soundtrack to the Fri, Oct 19th episode of the CBS-TV crime series CSI: NY. In the episode, the character of Lindsay (Anna Belknap) is injured while trying to stop the attempted murder of a political candidate. Songs such as “Stop When the Red Light Flashes,” “Amy,” “Night Life,” “The Forgotten” and “Kill The DJ” will help move the storyline along….Flyleaf has set October 30th as the release date for the band’s third album, New Horizons. The second single from the disc, “Call You Out,” is out now. New Horizons is the band’s first album since 2009’s Memento Mori, and follows an extended break during which lead singer Lacey Sturm (and husband Joshua) had her first child, Jack, in 2011. The new disc was recorded in just six weeks…..Happy and Heroic Jack! Not only did Jack Osbourne get hitched last weekend in Hawaii to Lisa Stelly, the mother of his daughter Pearl, but he and a friend also saved the life of a woman who experienced a heart attack while swimming. Jack and friend rescued the woman, performed mouth to mouth and called EMS. The woman is in stable condition! So hey, “Stars Earn Stripes,” shame on you guys for kicking Jack off the show!….Linkin Park have a new video for the song “Castles of Glass” which tells the story of a military family whose father is lost to war. The video was created by the people behind “Medal of Honor: Warfighter,” the EA Sports video game. It’s very poignant. Check it out at www.linkinpark.com.
