Got an advance copy of the Stone Sour album yesterday, opened it up, and right there! Corey Taylor included our own Lou Brutus in his Thank Yous! Nice! (Guess he must know Lou is a voting member on the Grammy committee. LOL) Anyhow, the album is tremendous and I can’t wait to play it again! Meanwhile, the album, House Of Gold And Bones, is coming out as a double album and a four-issue comic book, so it only makes sense frontman Corey Taylor would like to see the band’s new conceptual record be adapted as a movie as well. Speaking with Artisan News, Taylor said, “Once we’ve toured and we’ve got the music out to everyone, the thing I really wanna do is have two movies — Part 1 and Part 2. With the comic and the story and the music, I think we’ll be able to do it. I already know who I wanna talk to about doing it, so we’ll see what happens.” Taylor did not say who he would like to direct the movie, or if it would be produced through Living, Breathing Films, the production company he and Slipknot percussionist Clown launched earlier this year. The albums’ concept will be chronicled in comic book form on Dark Horse Comics. Those should be available next week…..Pulse of Radio reports A benefit concert featuring Jack White and a rare acoustic performance from Guns N’ Roses this weekend will be webcast live, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Cantrell came onstage to play guitar on Alice In Chains’ “Man In The Box” while Hagar sang and Velvet Revolver‘s Matt Sorum sat in on drums. Meanwhile, after a break to have shoulder surgery last year, Cantrell and Alice In Chains have been at work on a new album. I am hearing great reviews on the album, but hey, how can it NOT be great! Can’t wait for next year!…Celebrating birthdays: Today: Trey Parker, co-creator South Park, turns 43. Saturday, my OG friend Snoop Dogg turns 41. Have a great weekend! Go Tigers!
