Hurray! For those of you who missed the chance to see the Led Zeppelin film, Celebration Day, you are in luck! More theaters are adding the rock concert film for a limited run from today through Nov 01st! Click here for a theater near YOU!…In two weeks, I’ll be back in Las Vegas for something called the Sunset Sessions, which is a radio and records industry event to attract passionate programmers in radio, tv and film and turn us on to new music! So I am happy to say one of my favorite new bands, Beware of Darkness, will be performing there on Nov 10th! (Lou‘s birthday!) But I am bummed since I have to fly home that day so I can be in the office on Sunday to interview some band that is finally releasing their first new album in 16 years called Soundgarden! The things we must do! Anyhow, was on the hotLine with Beware of Darkness frontman and guitarist Kyle Nicolaides and he told me the band has hired a 4th member to play guitar, keyboards and background vocals. They’re playing in LA on the 9th at the Viper Room. Check them out on their Facebook. They totally rock!….Today I will be on the hotLine with Ian Thornley of Big Wreck. The Canadian singer/songwriter/guitarist hasn’t had music out as Big Wreck in nearly 10 years! Will be nice to catch up with him as he’s promoting the band’s new album and single Albatross….While Korn are on hiatus, Jonathan, that mad scientist, is working away on new songs. Apparently there are parts of about 15 new songs in the lab and the plan is to get back to the band’s metal roots! (Bye bye dub step, but not completely is my guess…..) Anyhow, 2013 marks the band’s 20th anniversary and I think the cat’s out of the bag that we’ll see Head return to the touring part of Korn anyhow, and even possibly the recording side, although I can not deny nor confirm that. Meanwhile, Munky is finally doing some shows with his side project Fear and the Nervous System out in Cali and supported the facts previously mentioned. Heard his shows have been really good. Check out Munky’s band at this address. Looking forward to seeing my boys on Shiprocked next month! I can’t believe I am going off on a giant cruise ship with several of my favorite rock stars! Korn, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, P.O.D., Dead Sara, 10 Years, In This Moment, Filter, Fuel, Pop Evil, Helmet, Lit, Gilby Clarke, Andy Wood, Geoff Tate of Queensryche and more! Will be a Crazzzzeeeeee Time for sure!… Happy 51st today to Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Happy 31st to Austin Winkler of Hinder!
