What a weekend! My LSU Tigers lost AGAIN to the Crimson Tide. And my household is split, because my BF’s daughter goes to U-AL and I love all things Louisiana. So, there is always someone who is not too happy with the outcome of the game. ME! UGH!….And now comes news that a former associate when I worked at Atlantic Records in the ’70’s, Izzy Sanchez, had posted a message on FB that his neighborhood in Rockaway, Queens is desperate for power, food and relief services as they have been cut off from aid and their neighborhood is closer to being robbed by opportunistic looters! There is so much of this going on, it is a horrible thing when man is so down and out and then the predators take over. What is wrong with this picture? You can help! The game, said to be one of the most anticipated in video game history, will arrive on November 13th. A separate soundtrack album featuring the more than 40 songs heard in the game will come out the same day. Reznor commented on his involvement in the game, “I look at video games as a true art form. The chance to be involved in something like this is exciting to me. I feel it’s every bit as viable as film work or music or anything else. The games have gotten more intense and more realistic and more engrossing and deeper. Video game culture has expanded into the largest form of entertainment.” The game is out Nov 13th and also contains “Carry On” from Avenged Sevenfold, who are holed up in Huntington Beach, CA working away on their next album!….Jane’s Addiction recorded a cover version of The Rolling Stones classic “Sympathy For The Devil” which will appear on Songs Of Anarchy: Vol. 2, the second collection of music from the hit FX drama Sons Of Anarchy. The album will be released on Nov 19th. The band previously issued a live version of the song on its 1987 self-titled debut disc. Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro will also appear in a small role during the final two episodes of the show’s current season. Be listening for it on the Cover It Up special edition of hardDrive over Thanksgiving Weekend!….Hollywood Undead have released a new single called “We Are” from the band’s upcoming third album, Notes From The Underground. Frontman Johnny 3 Tears said about the track, “The song is about collective resistance. It’s the silent majority, but we’re using Los Angeles as the backdrop . . . As a whole, it’s a good introduction to Notes From The Underground because it encompasses the band idealistically. Think of it as an ode to our misled youth.” The band’s third disc comes out Jan 13th and follows 2010’s American Tragedy…..And condolences to fans, friends and family of Mitch Lucker of the band Suicide Silence, who was tragically killed in a motorcyle accident on Halloween in Huntington Beach. Apparently he lost control of his brand new 2013 Harley-Davidson, which hit a light pole and sent him flying in one direction while the bike went into the path of traffic. Very sad, as he was only 28…Tomorrow, DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE! I don’t wanna hear, “Oh it was too cold to stand in line” or “I couldn’t find a ride.” WORK ON IT NOW! It’s your duty to vote, so dammit, do it! 🙂
