I am bummed! I am being bullied by neighbors in the apartment above me. They walk like troglodytes and wake me up before 6 AM and after midnight. They keep saying “We’re doing what we can to be considerate.” Bull doodie! I am calling a lawyer! It’s harassment!…We are all in a Soundgarden tizzy! The band comes to town tomorrow for a week long promo assault to hype their forthcoming King Animal album, which is really good! They’re on the cover of the Nov/Dec Revolver mag, doing a syndicated radio special in our studios, then an interview for hardDriveRadio, then they are over at satellite radio. Singer Chris Cornell will play an acoustic benefit concert on Monday night (Nov 12th) at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, with all proceeds going to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. Tickets go on sale today (Nov 9th) at 3:00 p.m. ET. Soundgarden’s new studio album arrives on Tuesday (Nov 13th). The band will also perform a concert for the Live On Letterman webcast Monday night, as well as a song for that evening’s edition of Late Show With David Letterman on CBS. King Animal, Soundgarden’s sixth studio album and first since 1996, is currently streaming in its entirety on iTunes. A sneak peek at the video for the album’s first single, “Been Away Too Long,” became available online Thursday (Nov 8th), with the full clip scheduled to arrive on today. The shows, set to take place at the Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals that take place between June 7th and 9th, will feature Welch playing full sets with the group. Korn posted a statement at its website saying, “Head returns as a special guest to play two full shows with Korn for the first time since 2004.” Welch joined Korn onstage for the song “Blind” last May 5th at the Carolina Rebellion festival in Rockingham, NC, marking the first time in eight years Korn played with Welch. Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer, who had not spoken with Welch for years before that show, told us at the time they reconnected right away: “When we were talking and hanging out it was, you know, there was a lot of catching up to do, but it really was almost like no time had passed. When you really have a connection with somebody, it feels like, you know, you can just kind of pick up where you left off after you get caught up, you know.” I can not wait to see them on Shiprocked and get the lowdown!…..The Deftones also have an album coming out on Tuesday. They are streaming their Koi No Yokan, online in its entirety at RollingStone.com. The group’s seventh studio disc follows 2010’s Diamond Eyes. Frontman Chino Moreno said about the new record, “This time, we had a little more chance to experiment and just play.” I listened to it last night and it’s probably one of their best albums to date! Right on Nick Raskulinecz! Check out the stream at http://tinyurl.com/cjhd6y9 …P.O.D. will release a limited edition vinyl pressing of its latest album, Murdered Love, on Nov 20th. P.O.D. will join Daughtry and 3 Doors Down as special guests on those two bands’ co-headlining U.S. tour, which begins on November 17th in Mississippi and runs through mid-December. (AntiMusic)….Kid Rock says “UNCLE!” He has been one of the last holdouts against putting his music on iTunes — but not anymore. The singer’s new disc, Rebel Soul, will be available via the Apple digital music retailer, with first single “Let’s Ride” already up for sale there. Rock explained why he decided to end his iTunes boycott: “If you make a good product, people will obtain it. And I still think, I don’t agree with iTunes when they say that all music’s the same price. But I’m not gonna fight the technology, I embrace it, you know, like everybody else. But, you know, at the same time, I stood up for what I believed in. I proved my point to the tune of millions and millions of records. And I said I wouldn’t hold out forever, you know, there was gonna come a time, but felt this was it.” Be listening for Kid Rock on the air with new in person interview soon!….I gotta say, there is a ton of great new music in all these albums I have mentioned here today! You won’t find a bad song on any of them, and that’s a good thing!….Celebrating birthdays on Saturday, DJ Asha turns the Big 4-0 and our own LOU BRUTUS is also celebrating a LARGE birthday of his own on Saturday!
