Happy Monday! Short work week! YEAH!….Dave Grohl will give the key note address to the music conference portion of the annual SXSW (South By Southwest) convention. No doubt the rumors are FLYING around his documentary on Sound City Studios will make it’s debut at the conference’s film festival portion of the event. I have been asked to speak on a panel, and now I am definitely making plans to get down to Austin in March! The documentary is on the famed Van Nuys, CA recording studio that was the facility where hundreds of records recorded by Fleetwood Mac. Tom Petty, Nirvana, tool, A Perfect Circle, nine inch nails, Dio, Metallica, Slipknot, Grateful Dead, Johnny Cash, Kid Rock, Chili Peppersand many more made recording history with the albums they did in that building. It opened in 1969 and closed several years back. So Dave decided he wanted to interview some of the artists and the former employees of the place. Looking forward to seeing it for sure!….Rock on the Range announced the dates for the 2013 shows: Friday, May 17-Sunday May 19. Cyber-sale on tix Nov 26th.
