Wow! What can we say about last night’s Hurricane Sandy benefit, the 12-12-12 Concert? Before they even played one single note they had raised 30 MILLION DOLLARS! (And much more is needed!) Didn’t matter if you were young or old, there was something appealing about the entire night. Some of you probably got to see the Rolling Stones or the Who for the first time in your life. Others caught Alicia Keys or Paul McCartney with the remaining members of Nirvana (Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic & Pat Smear) on a new tune they wrote together called “Cut Me Some Slack”! Or New Jersey sons Springsteen and Bon Jovi performing together, or Michael Stipe of REM with Chris Martin of Coldplay. Or Eddie Vedder with Roger Waters. Check out this interview video with Dave and Krist Novoselic (the t is silent) from Fuse TV. The song will be available on the Hurricane Sandy album compilation available @ iTunes and on the soundtrack to Dave’s Sound City film. Anyhow, the concert was AMAZING at every turn. If you haven’t already and can donate anything, please do so by hitting www.121212concert.org. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut thank you….Speaking of Nirvana, how about those guys last night? I thought Krist looked AWESOME! Very 70’s fashionable, and I think those were bell-bottoms, not sure tho. And Dave (sigh). Love me some Dave. Meanwhile, Dave told RollingStone people need to chill over the notion Foo Fighters could break up. “People should never be afraid that Foo Fighters are ever going to break up. It’s like your grandparents getting divorced — it’s not gonna happen.” The Foos announced the break after finishing the touring cycle for their seventh album, 2011’s Wasting Light, but Grohl said he’s already got an idea in mind for the follow-up. He revealed, “(I have) a concept for the next album we’ve never done before. And who knows? There might be a movie to go with it.” Like I’ve said, Dave has a charmed life. Look for his documentary, Sound City, Feb. 1….Mark Tremonti revealed Alter Bridge will be recording a new album next year. The workaholic Mark is also working on new Creed music as well. And in his spare time, more solo stuff. Workaholic…..Today Amy Lee of Evanescence turns 31.
