I am addicted now to Words with Friends. Terrible. I even play against myself between my iphone and my kindle. Is there a therapy group I can attend?????……Pulse Content reports Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has revealed in a new interview with Classic Rock magazine some more details about the band’s upcoming 3D feature film, which will combine concert footage with a fictional storyline. Ulrich cited the 1976 Led Zeppelin movie, The Song Remains The Same, as a major influence, explaining, “There are four members in Led Zeppelin, four members in Metallica, it’s a full-length movie, and there’s a lot in this film that does not take place onstage. The major difference is that the stuff that takes place offstage in the Metallica movie does not feature any members of Metallica. It’s two separate worlds — a Metallica show and a story that unfolds in a parallel universe — and at some point they intertwine.” A summer 2013 release is expected for Metallica’s film, which does not yet have a title. Metallica has also begun working on material for its 10th studio album, which the band expects to begin recording later this year for a 2014 arrival…..”I W8 4 U”, a brand new song from Love & Death, the band fronted by former koRn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, can be streamed in the here. The track, which features a guest appearance by Mattie Montgomery of For Today, comes off Love & Death’s debut album, “Between Here & Lost”, which will be released on Jan 22 via Tooth & Nail Records. Recorded in Nashville with producer Jasen Rauch (Red, Breaking Benjamin) and mixed by Paul Pavao, Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Filter, Disturbed) and Jim Monti (koRn), the CD consists of 11 tracks, ranging from songs about personal struggle and triumph (“Chemicals”, “My Disaster”, “Paralyzed”) to emotionally charged anthems (“Fading Away”, “Watching The Bottom Fall”) to a riff-heavy rendition of Devo‘s 1980 hit “Whip It” (appeared on a recent hardDrive cover song special edition.) We wish Head all the best with the new album, but we can’t help but hope someday he can return to koRn as a fulltime member. (Thanks Blabbermouth.)…Tomorrow I will speak with David Draiman about the music on his new project, Device. Looking forward to that.
