Good day! You probably didn’t watch the Golden Globes last night, but I thought the show was fun, funny and the most irreverant it has ever been. Enjoyed it immensely. Thank you Tina & Amy…Black Sabbath has announced it’s new album, 13, will be released sometime in June. Actual date TBA. According to the press released, cleverly issued on 01-13-13, the original Black Sabbath-Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar) and Geezer Butler (bass)–have recorded the album primarily in Los Angeles and were joined at the sessions by drummer Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine). Produced by Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy winner, two of those as Producer of the Year), the album will be released on Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the U.S. 13 marks the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ return to Vertigo, the band’s original label; it’s the group’s first studio album together since 1978’s Never Say Die! They have sold over 70 million albums together. Sabbath have touring plans lined up, beginning April 20 down under in New Zealand and Australia, followed by a May 12th stop at Ozzfest Japan outside of Tokyo. Speculators are speculating “Will they do any of the U.S. festivals? Will this mark the possible return of Ozzfest in the U.S.?” We don’t know, but we’ll ask…..Device, David Draiman‘s new project, will drop it’s first single, “Vilify,” on Feb 19th….Alice in Chains have announced their tour and we’ve got it in Road Rage! A trek with Lacuna Coil will begin on Feb 2nd in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I was laughing with Morgan Rose on Shiprocked, since some Sevendust fans might recall several years ago, he and Dez Fafara of Coal Chamber had a serious feud going on. But as you can see, time heals all wounds. So you are probably wondering, will Rayna Foss-Rose be in the band? Hell no! Morgan told me his ex is waaaay outside of the music game and I probably wouldn’t recognize her if I saw her today. Listen for “Decay,” the new Sevendust single on the air soon! It’s out on the 22nd….My buddy & Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro appears in a new photo shoot for the anti-animal cruelty organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), according to Loudwire.
