This is a bittersweet day for yours truly. My dear Mom passed away on this day in 2005, so there’s that. But then I just got a call confirming and interview with, wait for it, Dave Grohl around lunchtime. Just goes to show you, good things do come to those who wait! Or karma, or something! And, it’s also PAYDAY, so all in all, it will be a good day none the less! (If you hear about a woman who spontaneously combusted here in NYC around lunch, you will know it was me.) Anyway, here’s more news: All That Remains will headline a brief spring U.S. trek that will also include Hellyeah and Nonpoint on the bill for most of the dates, with In This Moment also showing up at a handful of gigs. The tour will hit the road on March 18th in Albuquerque, NM, hitting mostly Western markets before closing out on April Fools Day, the 1st, in Seattle. After those dates, they’ll be on a string of radio shows, including all the big event festivals like Carolina Rebellion, Rock on the Range, Welcome to Rockville and Rocklahoma. We’ll have the dates for you in Road Rage momentarily!….There’s a new “kid” in town! FORT ROCK will take place on April 14th at JetBlue Park in Ft Myers, FL, the spring training site of the dreaded Boston Red Sox! (Oddly enough, I’m thinking about buying a place around there! LOL) The line-up so far is The Offspring, 3 Doors Down, Stone Sour, Papa Roach, Volbeat, Device, In This Moment, Otherwise, Pop Evil, Escape the Fate and Mindset Evolution, with more TBA. Tix are on sale Feb 23 at 6 AM ET. The members of the group signed autographs and took pictures, while Tremonti also answered some questions for American Forces Network. A video of the visit has been posted online. Mark is one of the nicest folks you will ever meet. Pleasure knowing him for sure!…..Celebrating birthdays this weekend: Brandon Boyd of Incubus turns 37 today, and Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, is 59. Saturday, Slayer’s Dave Lombardo hits 48 and Sunday, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong turns 41 along with a guy who calls me “Roxy Roller”, Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters! ….Our Lou Brutus is heading to Vegas to get on the tour bus with Stone Sour. Oh, the stories and pictures will be coming, you can count on it!
