April Fool’s Day! Don’t let the prankers get ya! LOL….I was happy and bummed today when I read a story on Richard Patrick of Filter! Happy because a while back, I had given their label a quote about my feelings about the new Filter album, The Sun Comes Out Tonight (Jun 4th), which Richard played for me back in November while on Shiprocked! You can see the album teaser here with my quote. Then I read the horror his wife Tina endured when she was driving along, minding her own business. Richard posted “My wife was driving in our Prius, and we have a ‘Ban Assault Weapons’ bumper sticker on it. So this big Ford pickup truck pulls up next to her and the passenger starts throwing garbage at wifes car, and they tried to throw also throw stuff at her windshield. She almost got ran off the road in the process, cause they were so busy trying to throw stuff at her and flip her off. This is what this country has turned into. The Tea Party and the extreme right are literally turning into the new terrorists. These are gun nuts like Timothy McVeigh was. I’m trying to understand my fellow humans, but it’s hard. These pickup driving, God proclaiming gun nuts tried to run my wife off the road! This was over a bumper sticker! Thank God our kids weren’t with her.” Man, this incident could’ve been much worse. I hope she got the perp’s license plate number! Whether you are for or against gun restrictions, is it really coming to this? Let’s hope not!….Stone Sour has debuted the official trailer for the House Of Gold & Bonescomic book series. The short story is the same as the basis for the group’s double concept album of the same name. The official synopsis says, “Trapped in an alternate reality, the Human must make his way to the House of Gold & Bones as he is chased by a crazed mob and taunted by mysterious ally Allen. What the Human discovers on his journey will be his salvation . . . or his destruction.”The second issue of the comic will arrive on May 22, with the publication dates of the third and fourth yet to be determined.
