Pulse Content reports Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett told the United Arab Emirates’ GulfNews.com the band hopes to release its next album in 2014, but actually making headway on the project is “a pretty slow process.” Although band members have said in other interviews that they’re aiming for the follow-up to 2008’s Death Magnetic to come out next year, Hammett explained, “That’s what we’re hoping would happen. Whether that’s a reality, we’ll see. We’re recording stuff here and there, but it’s a pretty slow process.” Drummer Lars Ulrich told us these days Metallica prefers to break up its time between projects instead of concentrating on just one: “If we had to sit there and, ‘Okay, boys, now you write for the rest of the year and then you spend the next year after that recording’ — I would pull what seven hairs I have left, I’d pull those out and rather just stab myself in the eye with nails or whatever. I just, I couldn’t do it. I mean, we love the position that we’re in to be able to come and go between all these different projects. That’s what keeps us alive.” Sure sign of ADD! Seems he’d lost his way and fell off the wagon. Blabbermouth reports Ozzy Osbourne has admitted to a year-and-a-half-long alcohol and drug relapse but has denied that he is planning to divorce his wife of 31 years, Sharon. After a report surfaced in the British tabloid The Sun claiming the Black Sabbath singer and his wife/manager are living apart and haven’t seen each other in weeks, a spokesman for Sharon released a statement claiming Ozzy and his wife “were still together.” The spokesman added: “They’ve both got huge work commitments. She is at the hotel for work and he is starting his Black Sabbath tour. Of course they row, but they are still together. Sharon and Ozzy have spent long periods of time apart before when she was working in the U.K. The marriage is not on the rocks.” In a statement posted Monday on his Facebook page, Ozzy said: “For the last year and a half, I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.
