It was a great series. And for us Boston Bruin fans, next year….. Well, while in France (geez, I missed them by a day) Korn drummer Ray Luzier let the cat out of the bag! The new, to-be-titled Korn album is set for a Sep 24th release! We are talking to the band’s reps about a killer kontest so once again, if you are not already a hardDriveRadio Radical, you need to sign up on the home page Immediately! Got some other cool promotions we’re working on for ya, so ya gotta be a registered Radical to get in on the fun, so do it now!… Pulse Content informs us Foo Fighters are in the early stages of work on their eighth studio album, with drummer Taylor Hawkins telling us frontman Dave Grohl is just starting to map the new record out: “We’re getting started. We’re getting our ideas together. Dave’s got his brain working overtime like usual and he’s got a lot of great ideas, both musically and conceptually. None that I can speak of at this moment, but it’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be cool.” (Dave is also producing the new Dead Sara album out in his studios in LA.) The new Foos album will probably emerge sometime in early 2014 and will follow up 2011’s Wasting Light, which was Foo Fighters’ second consecutive effort to debut at Number One on the Billboard album chart. Grohl said earlier this year at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas he had “a crazy idea of what I want to do with the next record and how we record it . . . It won’t be a conventional record.” Meanwhile, Hawkins told Billboard all the success the Foos had with Wasting Light definitely puts pressure on its follow-up. He explained, “You always want every one of them to be the best one you’ve ever done, and you always think you haven’t done your best one.” Oh those over-achievers!….This is pretty awesome. Maynard James Keenan of Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer has donated two of his platinum album plaques (one for Tool’s Undertow and one for APC’s Mer De Noms – hey, I have one of those!) to help raise money for the Oklahoma Animal Rescue Center in Oklahoma City, which was destroyed by the recent tornadoes in the state. You can take a look and bid on them over at beleaver.com….Former STP frontman Scott Weiland was married over the weekend in LA to Jamie Watchel. The 45 year old singer met the 35 year old photographer during a photo shoot for the album cover for Weiland’s Christmas album last fall. This is marriage Number 3 for ole Scottie. Congrats….Happy 41st today to Mike Kroeger of Nickelback and it was 4 years ago today that pop singer Michael Jackson passed away.
