Hello peeps! Slash will start the news out today! Not only is his band’s last summer concert being broadcast live at EVNTLIVE on Thursday night at 9:45 PM PT/12:45 ET, but his long-awaited first film from his own film production company, Slasher Films, called “Nothing Left to Fear” is being released in theaters Oct 4, with the Blu-Ray/DVD release on Oct 8. Also on the 4th, the soundtrack will drop via PledgeMusic.com/Slash. The title track features Slash with Myles Kennedy. So you can be listening to hardDrive XL with Lou Brutus and hit the EvntLive site for Slash right afterwards! Awesome!….. Sorry to hear our friend Jason Newsted and his band were forced to leave the Gigantour for one week so he can recover from walking pneumonia. Unfortunately this means all the Canadian fans are going to miss seeing Newsted on this run! Bummer! Hope Jase is better soon!….Ozzy Osbourne, Tom Morello, Eddie Vedder, Pete Townshend, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Radiohead, Sean & Yoko Ono and U2 are just a handful of artists who have signed an open letter with Amnesty International — along with about 100 more and counting — advocating for the release of Pussy Riot. The letter states that the effects of Pussy Riot’s “shockingly unjust trial and imprisonment has spread far and wide, especially among your fellow artists, musicians and citizens around the world.” Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina are still imprisoned in Russia after receiving a twoyear sentence for protesting against Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2012. A third group member, Yekaterina Samutsevich was freed on appeal in October 2012. Also celebrating today is Chad Gracey, drummer for Live and The Gracious Few, who turns 42.
