September 03rd? Gee, I got some bills to pay and quick! LOL! Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. I sure did! I didn’t do anything but relax and be with friends and family (for once!) Very jealous of my friend Andi‘s 1951 PEACH condition Pontiac in original Stardust Blue! (I forgot the model, you car enthusiasts, but it’s a two door sedan.) The car even came with it’s own Thermos jug and ice chest and lighted Indian Head hood ornament, plus venetian blind in the rear window! And they are in great shape too! Considering it’s the year I was born, I think we both are holding up nicely! LOL…..My boys Korn are in the news today, breaking the story I’ve had to keep under wraps, but they are dusting off the Family Values Festival 2007 model and bringing it back, one night only (so far,) on October 5th in DENVER at the First Band Center with Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria, Beware of Darkness and Machine Gun Kelly! Check out the teaser here. Tickets on sale Friday, Sep 06th. Oh yeah! It’s ON!……Had a bit of a scare on Thursday when I heard Device was forced to cancel their remaining dates on their tour so David Draiman could attend to his wife, Lena, who was hospitalized with complications in the final trimester of her pregnancy. The couple are expecting their first child, Samuel Bear, on Oct 02. I emailed David immediately and he told me she will be fine, but with the baby due in 30 days, he didn’t want her to take any chances and it was very important for him to be there for her. Hey, we don’t blame him one bit! Glad things are improving….Pulse of Radio reports Nine Inch Nails releases its first new album in four years, titled Hesitation Marks, today through Columbia Records. The disc was recorded in secret over the past 12 months and features first single “Came Back Haunted.” For this album, NIN main man Trent Reznor returned to the major label side of the music industry, signing with Sony’s Columbia Records, six years after his Nine Inch Nails contract with Interscope Records expired and he became an independent artist. Meanwhile, Reznor has also posted a bonus track called “Trent Reznor In A Conversation With . . . ” online. The track appears on the deluxe edition of Hesitation Marks and is a recording made by Reznor himself in which, instead of sitting for an interview, he speaks directly to fans via a hand-held recorder. At point in the 40-plus minute track, Reznor shares two unreleased demos in addition to a demo of the song “Find My Way,” which did make it onto the record. Prior to returning to NIN, Reznor started another band, How To Destroy Angels, with his wife Mariqueen Maandig and collaborator Atticus Ross, while he and Ross also composed and performed the scores for the films The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. In his “Conversation” track, Reznor explains how those projects helped him find his way back to making Nine Inch Nails music again: “It was refreshing to get away from being the actor on center stage, that also wrote the dialogue and dressed the set and held the camera, to being in a more supportive role. And it was fun being in that role; it was fun not having the burden of everything being on your shoulders and also playing a supporting role and enjoying that role. But at the same time, it made the idea of stepping back into center stage and writing music for me, to be sung and delivered by me, interesting.” Check out the conversation here…..Veteran rockers 311 are planning to release their next studio album on March 11th, 2014 — also known as 3/11 or what fans and the group celebrate annually as “311 Day.” Speaking with Alternative Addiction, singer Nick Hexum said, “To record an entire album and make sure its going to come out on that day, we’re going to have our work cut out for us. But everyone feels really confident and fluid. The songs are already pre-produced so all we need to do is review them to be sure that everyone is cool with the parts, and then record them for real. It’s looking good.“… Metal Hammer reports Bring Me The Horizon have offered fans and budding DJs the chance to submit their remixes of new single “Can You Feel My Heart,” taken from this year’s immense new album, Sempiternal.
