Students at the Brennan Rock and Roll Academy in Sioux Falls, SD will get a huge treat on Saturday, September 28th when Slash comes to visit and jam with them. The school provides music education for kids from Boys & Girls Clubs and focuses on playing rock music. According to HenneMusic, Academy founder and Dollar Loan Center CEO Chuck Brennan first met Slash at Rockfest in Cadott, WI. The two hit it off and started discussing the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy and the fact that it’s the first-ever free music program for the children of the Boys and Girls Clubs. Speaking of Sioux Falls, our winner for the Korn Kontest is Joe Montele of Sioux Falls! Joe and his guest will be heading out to Las Vegas to see and hang with Korn and play a video game against Jonathan Davis! Looking forward to meeting Joe (huge 49ers fan) and introducing him to the band. Meanwhile, Korn is heading into the hardDrive studios in NYC on Tuesday. Needless to say, I am running around like a schoolgirl! “Korn is coming! Korn is coming!” Gee, and this from a woman my age! LOL. BTW: The band also filmed a video for “Love & Meth” with the same director, Giovanni Bucci, who did “Never Never.” If you haven’t seen “Never Never,” find it on Vevo!… Pulse of Radio reports Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has landed his first acting role in a motion picture with the independent drama Like Sunday, Like Rain. According to Deadline, the movie will star Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester as a struggling musician who becomes the guardian of a 12-year-old musical prodigy. Armstrong has been tapped to play Meester’s boyfriend, with Debra Messing on board as the child’s mother. The film is being written and directed by actor Frank Whaley, who has directed three previous features and was most recently seen on Showtime’s Ray Donovan. (Man, that is a great show! Also watching Under The Dome on demand! Another cool show.)…Pulse also reports Queens Of The Stone Age singer/guitarist Josh Homme has blasted rap mogul Jay-Z in an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Company, saying overly intense security measures at Jay’s recent Made In America festival in Philadelphia almost led Homme to cancel his band’s performance at the event. Homme was incensed when he and the band showed up for their gig during the festival’s second day only to be confronted by security guards who wanted to search his bag. Homme said, “(Jay-Z)’s a kook, you know. He has his security frisking the bands on the way in . . . I just told (the security guard) ‘If you open up my bag, then we’re not playing, so I guess it’s up to you now to decide whether I’m playing or not’ . . . You shouldn’t frisk my guys, you should f*** off.” Homme was also not pleased about having to pose for photos with bottles of Jay’s Ace Of Spades brand of champagne, saying, “I was like, ‘That’s not a gift — that’s a marketing tool.’ I destroyed it, because I thought it was rude overall.” Whoa! Crazy!….Eve To Adam‘s new Locked & Loaded cd dropped on Tuesday, and I gotta tell ya, it’s really good. Produced by Elvis Baskette, Dave Bassett and Eric Bass of Shinedown, enjoyed my listen and you can check it out online over on Loudwire. No filler that I can hear! The new single is “Immortal.” Good stuff Listen for the band on an upcoming Nu 2 U Tuesday segment on hardDrive XL early next month. Look for the band on the road soon with 10 Years….Adam West of tv’s Batman turns 85 today!
