Then, hopefully, Metallica will think about starting to write and record their next album! Good work, fellas! Loved the film…..Halestorm, led by powerhouse vocalist Lzzy Hale, has posted a stream online of the band’s cover of “Get Lucky,” the recent hit single from electronic duo Daft Punk. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming EP, ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVerRs eP, due out on Oct 15th. The six-song EP features tracks originally written and recorded by Judas Priest, AC/DC, Pat Benatar, Fleetwood Mac and Marilyn Manson in addition to Daft Punk. The new set follows up 2011’s ReAniMate, which featured the band’s renditions of songs by Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, Lady Gaga and the Beatles. Loving this tune! Can’t wait to hear more!…..Today, Nirvana releases the three-disc deluxe 20th anniversary reissue of the band’s final studio album, In Utero. The set features two versions of the 12-song album: a remastered version of the original disc and a newly remixed edition. A previously unheard instrumental song called “Forgotten Tune” is among the 70 tracks included in the package, along with remastered, remixed, rare and unreleased demos, B-sides, alternate takes and live recordings. Also included is a remastered recording of Nirvana’s December 13th, 1993 concert at Seattle’s Pier 48, which was broadcast on MTV as Live & Loud. The DVD of the performance, sold both as part of the deluxe reissue and a standalone disc, features the entire concert, plus a dozen more performances culled from rehearsals, concerts and video shoots. The In Utero package is out in several configurations, including a three-CD/one-DVD “Super Deluxe” edition, plus two-CD, three-LP and digital versions. Check out rehearsal footage here of a song called “Very Ape” and here of “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.” Notice Kurt Cobain on drums for a few moments in the first one! ….My friends over at Loudwire are streaming the new Alter Bridge album, Fortress, and after you listen, tell me I’m not crazy for loving that! It’s a really good album! Mark Tremonti is a fierce guitarist and this record has more bells and whistles that anything they’ve done before. Note: When they record with producer Elvis Baskette, they also record on a Neve 8180 board, just like the one Dave Grohl bought from Sound City. Elvis paid $400,000 for the thing, and it needs to be babied like a Lamborghini. Costs as much as one too! …Pulse of Radio reports we still may not have any new music from Tool for a while, but at least some schoolkids are trying to ease our suffering. Antiquiet has posted a video of a group of music students rocking the band’s classic track “46 & 2” under the supervision of teacher Aaron O’Keefe, who is definitely the coolest music teacher we’ve heard of since watching Jack Black in School Of Rock. Check it out here. Pretty impressive….Watched an interview over on Blabbermouth with Jonathan Davis and a German journalist. JD revealed for the next Korn album, his new music trend will be funk! Love that! Ohio Players 4Eva! Don’t forget to get your Korn questions into me soon! The band arrives tomorrow afternoon!….. .Blabbermouth reports ex-Papa Roach/current The Halo Method drummer Dave Buckner rejoined his former bandmates on stage on Sep 14 at the the Aftershock festival at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California to perform the song “Last Resort”. Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen here. Papa Roach was sued in 2008 by Buckner, who claimed he had not been receiving his fair share of the group’s earnings and he had not received a complete accounting from the group or its management. Frontman Jacoby Shaddix told The Pulse of Radio in early 2009 the suit was being settled, and his feelings about Buckner had not been affected by it. “Legal is legal, you know, but it’s like the essence of the lawsuit is to dissolve his business relationship with us, which is completely understandable. But as far as like personal goes, I, you know, we wish no ill will on him.” The band permanently split with Buckner at the beginning of 2008, following a year-long period in which he went to rehab twice. He was replaced by ex-Unwritten Law drummer Tony Palermo. Dave is now with The Halo Method, with former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, singer Lukas Rossi (Rock Star Supernova) and Josh Newell, former In This Moment bassist. The bands will both be performing at the 2014 Shiprocked in January!….. Rage Against the Machine’s Zack de la Rocha appears on a new rad track from rappers/programmers Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Dan The Automator and Kid Koala’s project called Deltron 3030. The tune is called “Melding of the Minds.” Check it out….Happy 44th today to M. Shawn Crahan aka Clown of Slipknot ! Have a great day!
