October 1 is tomorrow and starts Stop A Bully Month. If all the bullies in the world could be eradicated, what a wonderful world it could be! I really like Aaron (Jesse Pinkman) Paul‘s wife (along with David Arquette‘s) idea of the Kindness Project. Do something kind for someone. That’s a great start! Spread the news….OK, I am thoroughly happy with the outcome in last night’s Breaking Bad series finale. I am. Thank you, Vince Gilligan and crew! I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t seen it, but Walter White, I gotta hand it to ya, you found your way out splendidly!….I noticed a Facebook post from my friend, and possible distant cousin, Daniel Curcio, bassist from Beware of Darkness, that John Dolmayan of System of a Down sat in for their drummer Tony Cupito recently. I also noticed Pulse of Radio reported John has revealed on his Twitter page that he has “started working” on an album of cover songs, adding that it “should be good practice for the eventual System Of A Down album sometime in the future.” (Boy, he is the eternal optimist!) Dolmayan did not give any further details of what songs he planned to cover, when the record would likely surface, or if System had any plans to record anytime soon. It was Dolmayan who shouted at the end of System’s sole North American concert of 2013, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last July, “Next time we come back here, we’ll have a new f***ing album!” But singer Serj Tankian said in a Reddit interview the next day, “We have to make a record when we think it’s time, not anyone else.“….Speaking of bassists, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has confirmed he plays bass on the long-awaited new album from Modest Mouse, according to Spin. Novoselic revealed in an interview with Spotify, “I did a song with Modest Mouse earlier this year for their new record. It’s pretty edgy. I’ve got my big Gibson bass and a Rat distortion pedal busting out . . . this bass riff.” Novoselic did not say what the name of the song was and there are no further details available about the track or the record itself….Metallica‘s 3-D movie Metallica: Through The Never broke all records for the opening weekend for an IMAX film! Nice! I expected nothing less from the world’s biggest band! Did you see it? Send in an email via the link on the home page or call it in toll free to our hotLine and Lou Brutus will use your comments on the air! Do it! Meanwhile, Lars Ulrich told a San Francisco radio station something I am scratching my head wondering what it could be! Asked if there are any other surprises Metallica has in store for its fans, Ulrich said: “There’s a very interesting thing coming our way in December. Nobody knows that, so… There’s another frontier heading in Metallica’s direction in December. Which, if anybody [working for the band’s management] even knew that I just said what I just said, they would hunt me down and silence me. But there is another frontier coming in December, which we’re very excited about.” Read more at http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/metallica-to-cross-another-frontier-in-december-promises-lars-ulrich/#ppaMRYzdV7VJBKAl.99 ……..I LOVE that Metal Hammer (UK) mentioned the new Alter Bridge album, Fortress (out there tomorrow, out here Oct 8) is destined to seal the band’s title of Best Rock Band In The World Today! This band is so huge overseas, it’s ridiculous! I love this album and I wish America would get hip to how great Alter Bridge is! Aw, forget the Creed history. Just listen with open ears and open minds! Hey, there’s a concept! I think you will agree with me, this band deserves attention!….Meanwhile, the hardDrive Live-Outbreak Tour kicked off on Saturday night in Los Angeles at the House of Blues! I was planning to get out there, but had a family wedding to attend, so there went that trip! I’ll catch up with Bullet For My Valentine, Black Veil Brides, Stars In Stereo and Throw The Fight in “Slayerville” aka Sayreville, NJ on Oct 22!
