Hello people! I love seeing listener email! We got one from a listener in Rapid City, SD (you guys are getting slammed with snow!) who wrote in to Lou Brutus saying “Once again wanted to drop you a note that I continue to LOVE your show. I especially like that song by Gemini Syndrome that you played tonight. On a side note: your 50-year-old dental hygienist? You’d be (perhaps not) surprised by the number of 50 somethings that listen to serious rock and your show. I’m one, 52 – going on 53 in a couple of months as well as a couple of my friends that are also 50 somethings. Be afraid! Be very afraid. The 50 somethings are listening!!” And the 60 somethings, too! LOL Love it!….Pulse of Radio reports our friends in Five Finger Death Punch have released the music video for “Battle Born,” the group’s new single and first song released from its upcoming album, The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell, Volume 2. The clip was described by USA Today as “a celebration of the band’s success and a thank-you of sorts to its fans, who include martial artists and members of the military and law-enforcement communities, all of which are represented.” Frontman Ivan Moody said about the song itself, “After getting off the road from two years of touring, I was physically and emotionally drained . . . Even though I was doing what I’d dreamed of doing, it took all the energy that I had. It was exhausting. That made me realize, everything worth fighting for you will actually HAVE TO fight for. Every wish, every dream, every idea comes to existence only through blood, sweat and sacrifice . . . We are all battle born.” Watch it here…..Also, speaking of Gemini Syndrome, their video for “Stardust” will debut today over on Revolver mag’s site at Noon eastern. At Noon ET, watch it here. The band is currently on the road with Five Finger Death Punch and Escape The Fate. I’m bummed I will out of town when they come to NYC! (I will be watching my boys in Korn in Las Vegas with our contest winner!)….3 Doors Down will stage the 10th annual The Better Life Foundation concert on Nov 16th at Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, MS. The school provides music education for kids from Boys & Girls Clubs and focuses on playing rock music. Slash told us why places like the Brennan Academy are important especially when public schools are cutting back on arts education: “You know, the thing about the arts for kids, it’s something that they feel comfortable doing and every kid has it, and you shut that off and that’s why you have a lot of issues with kids. So it’s great to see somebody put money into an institution where it’s free for kids to go in and practice and play. And it’s like we need people to go out and do that kind of stuff so that kids can go and seek it out themselves and they don’t have to spend a fortune doing it.” Good work! Our Pulse of Radio reporter hung out with Slash and the director of his first movie on Slasher Films “Nothing Left To Fear,” yesterday in LA. Looking forward to hearing that on the air in the coming weeks. This is the first feature film launched by Slash and Academy-Award winning producer Michael Williams and Rob Eric. Directing is Anthony Leonardi III, a Gore Verbinski protégé. The score was written and co-produced by Slash and Nicholas O’Toole and will include a total of 32 tracks – one is the title track “Nothing Left To Fear”, featuring Myles Kennedy on vocals…..Happy 51st today to Bad Boy Tommy Lee!
