Could this be true? Pulse of Radio reports Metallica is rumored to be playing a concert in Antarctica this December, according to Blabbermouth. The news comes courtesy of the Colombian website for Coca-Cola Zero, which reports that the concert, which is sponsored by the soft drink, will take place sometime between Dec 2nd and Dec15th at a location yet to be announced. Antarctica is the Earth’s southernmost continent, with about 98 percent of it covered by ice that averages at least one mile in thickness. If the report proves true, this could be the mysterious event that Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich alluded to in an interview last month, where he said that there was a “very interesting thing coming our way in December . . . There’s another frontier heading in Metallica’s direction in December.” Lou Brutus was on hand for the band’s show in the late 90’s when they performed near the Artic Circle. So let’s see if we get a press release on this soon, eh?….This is interesting. Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop has revealed he plans to take some time off from the up-and-coming British act to spend some time with his other band Harlot. According to Ultimate Guitar, Worsnop said, “I’m gonna take a few months off from Asking and tour Harlot. It’s gonna be a weird transitional period where I’m trying to figure out the right balance for the schedules.” Worsnop also announced that he is working on a solo album, explaining, “The solo record’s really kind of mellow. I wanna do like coffee shops before our shows.” But Worsnop has no intention of leaving Asking Alexandria, telling Metal Hammer recently that he wants the group to be “the biggest band in the world.” I interviewed Asking Alexandria in Las Vegas on Oct 12, but Danny hadn’t arrived to the gig yet from LA. Hmmmmm…….Pearl Jam, aren’t playing “Jeremy”???? The band played 57 different songs over the course of two nights this past Friday (Oct 18th) and Saturday (Oct 19th) at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, according to Music-News.com. With the exception of 10 songs, the set each night was completely different, mixing well-known hits with deep album cuts and a selection of cover tunes. Six of the songs that made both nights’ set lists were from the new album, Lightning Bolt, while the other four that made it were “Alive” and “Porch” from the band’s debut album Ten along with “Do The Evolution” and “Given To Fly” from Yield. But no “Jeremy.” What? Didn’t they get the memo, this is Stop A Bully Month?!!!!……hardDrive Live Tour‘s Bullet For My Valentine released its fourth album, Temper Temper, earlier this year but is already laying the groundwork for its next studio effort. According to Blabbermouth, frontman Matt Tuck told the U.K.’s Rock Sound magazine, “We’re actually going to start working on the new record before the (U.K.) arena dates (in early December). We’ve got (producer) Terry Date coming over from America, we’d like to work with him, he’d like to work with us so we’re gonna have a bonding session, write a couple of songs and see how it goes.” That’s great news! The hardDrive Live Tour with Black Veil Brides, has about two more weeks to go, ending Nov 3rd in Portland, ME. And we’ll be announcing our winner of the hardDrive Live Tour Flyaway to Montreal tomorrow! (It’s safe to say if you entered and you haven’t heard from us, you didn’t win. Sorry!)…… Slash, Slipknot & Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum and bassist Duff McKagan plus others will perform at a special concert on Nov 18th at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. The event is a benefit for Ric O’Barry‘s Dolphin Project, an international organization dedicated to restoring freedom for all captive dolphins and whales. Meanwhile, Slash has signed over his publishing to Warner Chappell Music for representation… And finally today, an audio recording of Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell performing a mash-up of Metallica‘s “One” and U2‘s song of the same name — with Cornell singing the former’s lyrics over the latter’s music — has surfaced online. Cornell performed the dual cover on October 15th at the Balboa Theater in San Diego during the singer’s current Songbook tour, on which Cornell is performing acoustic versions of songs from throughout his career. (Blabbermouth).. Korn have added some new dates including Nov 27th in Sayreville, NJ. See the Road Rage page for more!…..And is Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin coming out of hiding? There was a post on his Facebook of a performance he did at a club in Pittston, PA near his home. Could this be a sign he’s thinking of coming back? Wonderers are wondering…….Happy 49th today to Metallica’s Robert Trujillo!
