I just discovered Plants vs Zombies 2. I have been a rabid PVZ player for many years, after discovering it on the subway to work one day when a woman was playing it next to me on the train. I was mesmerized! So now this new game, which is far more complicated, has entered my life. Disgustingly addictive. Mini-Halo…..So now we know why the wait has been so bloody long! Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan told Rolling Stone in a new interview the band’s first studio album since 2006 has been delayed because his bandmates take so long to assemble the music. Keenan explained, “I don’t write the music. They write the music. I wait for them to bring music to me. They tend to go back over and over stuff. It’s a long process. For a person like me, it can be a very tedious process.” Keenan added while he holds the material to a very high standard, the other three members of the group might be even more exacting. The singer said, “In some ways, they are bigger perfectionists. But you can only help support their talent so long. They don’t have to go through it 700 times. They can trust that first thought. But that’s their process, so you gotta let them do it.” He continued ” I couldn’t tell you” if the process is happening and the music is getting completed. But he also said, “We’re all in this together. I’m not pointing any fingers. I will take full responsibility if I have to.” Keenan has kept himself busy with his Arizona wine-making business and his band Puscifer, along with doing some live work and a little new music with A Perfect Circle.(Thanks Pulse of Radio)….Pulse also reports for a man who is supposed to be staying out of the limelight for a while, Dave Grohl is popping up all over the place. The Foo Fighters frontman has made his latest appearance on a new EP of cover songs by Swedish metal act Ghost B.C., called If You Have Ghost. Grohl not only produced the five-song set but also plays drums on a cover of Abba‘s “I’m A Marionette” and a rendition of Depeche Mode‘s “Waiting For The Night,” while also adding rhythm guitar to Ghost’s take on Roky Erickson’s “If You Have Ghosts.” The set is rounded off by a cover of Army Of Lovers’ “Crucified” and a live version of Ghost’s own “Secular Haze.” Ghost B.C. frontman Papa Emeritus II told The Quietus about working with Grohl, “I have to say that his work ethic is very high; he brought lots of energy to the studio, and his approach to recording worked well with our own philosophy. He was very picky, he wanted really good takes, and he was a stickler for tuning.” Listen for a Nameless Ghoul from Ghost BC on the air with Lou Brutus on Tuesday night on the XL. I’ve seen pictures of Papa Emeritus II without his make-up and robes. He is very dapper…..Boy I wish I was there! Rob Zombie and his band were joined onstage in Rapid City, SD (hello X-Rock listeners!) on Sunday night (Nov 10th) by Korn guitarists Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer for a cover of the Diamond Head classic “Am I Evil?” The track was first made famous by Metallica‘s cover version. Korn and Zombie are currently co-headlining the Night Of The Living Dreads tour, which next stops on Friday (Nov 15th) in Oklahoma City. Watch it here! Speaking of Korn, hit their website to check out their new wake up calls. For a small price, you can get cellphone messages each and every morning from a member of the band. I think Head did a great job doing his! Check ’em out! And I’ve updated Korn’s tour in Road Rage. (Blabbermouth) ….Happy 34th today to Papa Roach’s Tobin Esperance. Happy 38th to Travis Barker of Blink 182, Happy 51 to Type O Negative’s Josh Silver and Happy 65th to Prince Charles, although I think he looks much older, don’t you?
