Well, doctor diagnosed the flu and 24 hours bed rest! But as I told her, the show must go on! Many thanks to my associate producer Bill for being my stand in yesterday interviewing Sick Puppies and Lacuna Coil. Sorry I missed their gig last night……Congrats to my ole pal Tommy Lee, who is going to walk down the aisle one more time, this time with singer/dancer Sofia (Sofi) Toufa. This will be his 4th wife. Oh TLee, hope this one is THE one….Meanwhile, Chevelle is getting fans worked up for the release of their new album, La Gargola, by releasing the set’s artwork and track listing. The cover features a dark figure wearing a buttoned up coat and a beak-like mask worn by plague doctors back in the days. The album, which features ten songs, is due out on April 1st. The track listing for La Gargola includes: “Ouija Board,” “An Island,” “Take Out the Gunman,” “Jawbreaker,” “Hunter Eats Hunter,” “One Ocean,” “Choking Game,” “The Damned,” “Under the Knife” and “Twinge.” Look for tour dates for Chevelle in Road Rage…..Was on the hotLine last week with Phil LaBonte of All That Remains. The band has a huge single with “What If I Was Nothing,” which is currently Number Two on the Active Rock chart. The song is very different for the group and Phil told us not everyone in the band was on board with it at first: “There was definitely conflict in the beginning. There are people that come from, you know, a school of thought that like this is what you’re supposed to do and that’s what you do. But you either play inside the safe zone or you really push the envelope, and pushing the envelope is a risk. That’s the thing about trying new stuff — you’re not gonna know when it’s gonna, you know, strike a chord with people. You have no idea.”….This is kinda cool. Stanford University and Warner Music Group have partnered for a free online course, Creativity: Music To My Ears. Some of the artists slated to participate are Linkin Park‘s Mike Shinoda, Nate Ruess, Jason Mraz, Josh Groban and Tegan and Sara. The six week course starts on April 2nd…Happy 32nd today to Bert McCracken of The Used.
