Ugh. Having a stomach attack this morning. Ugh….This morning, Pulse of Radio reports despite a wave of reports making the Internet rounds on Friday (Mar 7th), Tool has not finished recording its fifth studio album. The band issued a statement to Rolling Stone explaining a misunderstanding between guitarist Adam Jones and a fan led to widespread reports that the group had completed the record and was releasing it this year. (Sounds like something I might do, not hearing the two important words “just kidding.”) The statement read, “Last night, Adam Jones, in a private conversation with fans attending the Portland Tool concert, joked that the band’s new album was not only finished but coming out the next day. Unfortunately, his off-the-cuff joke was taken out of context. Work on the forthcoming album is ongoing and as soon as it is done, trust me, we will be the first to let everyone know.” Jones also posted a message on Twitter saying, “FYI, ‘The record’s done and it’s coming out tomorrow’ is what I said yesterday, followed by ‘just kidding. . . ‘” Tool has not released a new album since 2006. Frontman Maynard James Keenan told Rolling Stone last year that making a new record was a “very tedious process,” adding, “I wait for them to bring music to me. They tend to go back over and over stuff. It’s a long process.” The band did kick off a short North American tour last week that pulls into San Francisco on Tuesday (Mar 11th) for a two-night stand and ends in Phoenix on Mar 27th. Keep an eye on toolband.com for the latest…..My pals in Pop Evil have filmed a new video for “Torn To Pieces,” the fourth single from the band’s latest album, Onyx. While the song itself is about the loss of singer Leigh Kakaty‘s father, Pop Evil is encouraging fans to upload photos to Instagram depicting what the track means to them. “Torn To Pieces” is already a Top 15 track at rock radio and follows two Number One hits, “Deal With The Devil” and “Trenches.”…30 Seconds To Mars is currently mulling the idea of doing another lengthy video from its latest album, Love Lust Faith + Dreams, to follow up the epic clips for “Hurricane” and “Up In The Air.” Singer Jared Leto says that the band is “plotting and planning,” adding, “I would love to do a sequel to ‘Hurricane,’ maybe that would be ‘Bright Lights’ or ‘Do Or Die,’ which could be another single here in the U.S.” Meanwhile, Leto, who just won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Dallas Buyers Club, is also looking for something bigger to direct than a video: he has his sights set on directing his first feature film soon….This sucks. Pule of Radio also is reporting Ozzy Osbourne‘s mansion in Buckinghamshire, England has been ruined by flooding during one of the U.K.’s rainiest winters ever. According to the Mirror, the house, which sits on a seven-acre estate, is located in one of the hardest hit areas of the country and now needs more than half a million dollars worth of repairs. Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon said the building was “destroyed,” while Ozzy added, “It’s been completely flooded. The rain has battered down the walls and seeped through everything. There is water everywhere . . . we can’t even go about getting it fixed because apparently it’s going to take nine months to dry out. The place is ruined.” The water damage is the latest incident to plague the Osbournes at their English countryside retreat. Others have included Ozzy’s all terrain vehicle crash in 2003, two fires and a burglary. While they wait to see if the house in England can be salvaged, the Osbournes will stay at their Los Angeles home — which itself was the site of a small fire in January 2013. Ozzy begins a short North American tour with Black Sabbath on Mar 31st in Brooklyn, NY…Lots of birthdays being celebrated today! Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament & producer Rick Rubin both turn 51. Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin is 36. Matt Rubano of Taking Back Sunday is 37, and Mad Man’s Jon Hamm is 43.
