Oh man, OF COURSE it was in NYC! The Pulse Of Radio reporting Queens Of The Stone Age singer/guitarist Josh Homme called out two audience members engaged in a fight during their Oct 24th concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. (Who goes to a QOTSA concert anymore to have a FIGHT, unless it was over politics, I guess!)
Homme took to the mic to address them from the stage, saying, “What’s going on? Is this something like a fight? We’re not here to fight. If you want to fight, stick your head up your ass and fight for air — and get the f**k out.”
He continued, “We’re here to dance, everybody’s going to get laid, and we don’t want security to be all over the place . . . So don’t be a d**k. We’re not the soundtrack to you fighting, we’re the soundtrack to you f**king. If you don’t like that, get the f**k out.”
Homme stepped away from the mic at one point and verbally engaged with the rowdy audience members. Homme’s speech was met with a hearty round of applause before the band kicked into “Domesticated Animals” from its new album Villains.
The New York show closed out the band’s recent North American tour, which was nearly all sold out. After a stint in Europe, the Queens will start a new North American run on January 22nd in Victoria, BC. Villains debuted at Number Three on the Billboard 200 album chart last month, moving 69,000 copies in pure album sales in its first week of release.
Five Finger Death Punch has shared a preview of its new single “Trouble” in a freshly posted teaser video. The song is expected to be one of the two new tracks set for inclusion on the band’s forthcoming greatest hits set, Decade Of Destruction, now due out in December. Further details on that set, as well as the band’s seventh studio album due out early next year, remain pending. Metallica played to 22,211 people at the O2 Arena in London, England on Tuesday night (Oct 24th), breaking the previous record of 21,000 set by Muse in 2016. According to IQ, Metallica’s current “in the round” stage set-up, with the metal legends performing in the middle of the arena — expanded the seating capacity at the venue, which allowed the group to set the new record.
Frontman James Hetfield told hardDriveRadio a while back that Metallica prefers to perform as close to its fans as possible: “Whatever gets us as close to the audience as possible is preferred for us. Whether it’s in the round or lower or in whatever configuration it takes. We want to get as close as possible and we’ve succeeded in getting closer and closer.”
The O2’s head of programming, Christian D’Acuna, presented the members of Metallica with an illustration specially commissioned to mark their achievement. Metallica’s two shows at the O2 were part of the U.K. leg of the “WorldWired” tour, which next stops in Manchester on Saturday night (Oct 28th). Metallica’s European jaunt kicked off in early September and will run through November. After a holiday break, the trek will resume on Feb 1st, 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal, and continue through May, finishing up in Helsinki, Finland.

Hellyeah will enter The Hideout recording studio in Las Vegas in early November to begin recording its sixth album. The follow-up to 2016’s Unden!able will once again be produced by Kevin Churko, who helmed the band’s last effort and its predecessor, 2014’s Blood For Blood. Drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott told VintageRock.Com, “We just finished 192 tour dates with Hellyeah. Our current single, ‘Love Falls,’ is Number Five in the United States Of America right now and still climbing . . . So things are going good, we’re staying busy, and we’re looking forward to a busy, busy, busy year next year.”
Lou Brutus asked Hellyeah singer Chad Gray why he thought Unden!able was the band’s most successful album in some time: “I have no idea (laughs). I mean, I think that we started getting back to our roots. When we started it, it was an experiment, and it was so cool ’cause it was almost unspoken and we got back to our roots, you know.”
Hellyeah was formed a decade ago by guitarist Tom Maxwell of Nothingface, Abbott, who had played with Pantera and Damageplan, and Gray, who had recorded five albums with Mudvayne. The trio remain the core members of the band.
Unden!able was released on Jun 3rd, 2016 and marked the first time Hellyeah’s current lineup — which also includes guitarist Christian Brady and bassist Kyle Sanders — recorded together as a unit.
A “deluxe” edition of Unden!able will be made available on Oct 27th as a CD/DVD and live audio digital deluxe. The physical package contains the fan-shot live concert DVD, We’re All In This Together. The digital package contains the live audio from the DVD.
Unden!able features three Top 10 U.S. Active Rock singles: “Human, a cover of Phil Collins‘ “I Don’t Care Anymore” and “Love Falls.”

Ahead of Stranger Things’ Season 2 premiere, Netflix announced an aftershow, Beyond Stranger Things, which will examine all things spooky and odd in Hawkins, Indiana. The aftershow will be hosted by comedian Jim Rash, and will tackle “inspiration for the series, behind-the-scenes stories, and analyzes every aspect of the second season – answering all the burning questions.” Feature creators Matt and Ross Duffer and cast members, including Millie Bobby Brown, Paul Reiser and Sean Astin, will also appear. I can’t wait!
