Another snowy day in the north east… how’s the rest of the country doing? Is it spring yet!?
Alice In Chains has unveiled the dates and venues for the second leg of its North American headline tour, which kicks off on August 22nd in Vancouver and comes to a close on September 15th in Phoenix. The previously announced first half of the trek starts on April 28th in Boston and finishes up on May 19th in Philadelphia. In between the two halves of the tour, Alice In Chains will hit Europe hard and also head over to Tel Aviv, Israel for two concerts there.
The quartet is currently putting the finishing touches on the much-anticipated follow-up to 2013’s critically acclaimed album The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Due out later this year, the yet-to-be-titled disc marks the band’s third collaboration with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who produced both The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and its predecessor, 2009’s Black Gives Way To Blue.
Alice In Chains officially regrouped in early 2006 after nearly a decade away and guitarist Jerry Cantrell told us that nothing equaled the feeling of playing with his bandmates: “There’s a certain, certain chemistry that you really can’t put your finger on, but when you put the certain ingredients in a bowl and mix it up, you know, and light the fuse, it’s so much more powerful than the individual parts that make up the whole.”

Bad Wolves have set May 18th as the release date for the band’s debut album, titled Disobey, which will include the group’s massively successful cover of the Cranberries hit “Zombie.” The track has hit the Top 15 on the American rock radio chart and is Number One on iTunes in multiple countries, including the U.K., Sweden, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the Cranberries’ home country of Ireland.
Late Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan was slated to record vocals for Bad Wolves’ cover of the track on the day that she died in a London hotel this past January. The band decided to release the song in her honor with all proceeds going to her children.
The original single was first released by the Cranberries in 1994 and became a worldwide Number One hit. The video for the Bad Wolves version has garnered more than 14 million views in 18 days across YouTube and Facebook.
Bad Wolves will tour the U.S. later this spring with Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown, and then again in the summer with Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin.
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man he says tried to gain access to his property. According to TMZ, the man reportedly attempted to convince Slash’s girlfriend he was a friend so that he could be allowed into the guitarist’s home during a Super Bowl party. When she denied him entry, the man allegedly became irate, rang the doorbell multiple times and smashed the musician’s security camera.
The man apparently returned two weeks later during an invitation-only party, once again claiming to be Slash’s friend. When he was turned away, he sat on his motorcycle in the parking lot revving its engine. The man’s motivation for getting near Slash remains unclear.
As previously reported, Slash’s solo band, Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, is rumored to be putting the finishing touches on a new studio album for a fall release. Slash has not confirmed that he has been working on a follow-up to 2014’s World On Fire, but it is believed that he and his bandmates have been laying down tracks since at least January. The Guns reunion trek launched in April 2016 and has since grossed more than $400 million, with more European dates coming this summer.
Kid Rock will be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 34 weekend, in a ceremony set to take place on Friday, April 6th. Rock has performed at several WWE events throughout his musical career, including WrestleMania 25 in 2009 and Tribute To The Troops in 2012. He called his induction a “real honor,” telling Billboard, “Every time I go to a WWE event I always have a good time; there is nothing like it and no better fans in the world. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be a fun night and it will be great to see everyone again. I have so much respect for what those guys and girls do. I’m grateful to WWE for letting me be a part of WrestleMania weekend.”
Kid Rock will be inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame, which includes Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Drew Carey, Bob Ueckerand Pete Rose. The April 6th induction ceremony will stream live on WWE Network from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, with WrestleMania 34 taking place two days later on April 8th at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Rock’s latest album, called Sweet Southern Sugar, came out last November.
He’s currently in the final two weeks of his “American Rock ‘N’ Roll Tour,” which pulls into Chicago on Friday, March 16th. Rock was forced to change its name from “The Greatest Show On Earth” after being sued by the owners of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
