Three Days Grace has shared the official lyric video for “Infra-Red,” the new single from the band’s sixth studio effort, Outsider. Released in March, the LP helped the group make chart history that month when second single “The Mountain” went to Number One on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart, giving the Canadian act its 13th chart-topper on that survey.
Three Days Grace already held the record for most Number One singles at Active Rock radio, also with 13. The quartet’s previous chart-toppers on the airwaves were “I Am Machine” and “Painkiller” from the 2015 album Human.
The Canadian act also consistently averages 3.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, remaining one of the most listened-to rock bands in the world.
It’s been 15 years since Three Days Grace released its debut LP and started on the road to rock stardom. Bassist Brad Walst told us a while back how the band has coped with success: “I don’t know, I think if you let it go to your head, man, if you get caught up in the whole thing, sure, you’re gonna turn into, you know, an egotistical rock star, and that hasn’t happened to us. We treat people like people and we hope that they give us the same respect.”
Three Days Grace will tour North America this summer with Avenged Sevenfold and Prophets Of Rage, kicking off on July 22nd in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Guns N’ Roses‘ classic 1987 debut album, Appetite For Destruction, has returned to the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart after more than 29 years. The LP re-entered the chart at Number 10, following its reissue in a deluxe “Locked N’ Loaded” version on June 29th.
For tracking and charting purposes, all versions of Appetite For Destruction are combined. In the week ending July 5th, the album sold 33,000 equivalent units.
The deluxe edition of Appetite For Destruction contains 73 songs — including 49 tracks that never before been released — spread out across four CDs and seven 12-inch 180-gram vinyl LPs. A super deluxe version also includes a 96-page book with unreleased photos from Axl’s personal archive, new lithographs and a plethora of memorabilia.
Appetite For Destruction is one of the most successful albums in recording history, selling a reported 28 million copies worldwide since its original release.
Prophets Of Rage guitarist Tom Morello has accused former president Barack Obama of being a war criminal during his time in office. Morello aired his grievances after a Twitter account named Black and Proud tweeted, “We miss President Obama. We miss his class. We miss the dignity he brought to the White House.”
Morello responded, “I enjoy your twitter feed and welcome both class and dignity, however must say I don’t miss Obama’s war crimes and I mourn the civilian dead in the Mid East under his rule.”
Morello also criticized Obama in a 2012 Rolling Stone interview, admitting, “I drank a little bit of the Kool-Aid initially. It looked different than any other president, sounded different than any other president and then he acted the same as all the other presidents.”
While clearly on the left side of the political aisle, Morello has told us before that he’s not a fan of either major political party: “I’ve always felt more much comfortable on the outside, lobbing musical Molotov cocktails over the barbed wire fence and, you know, I believe that both political parties are severely flawed, and neither one of them really represents the true needs of the vast majority of Americans.”
Prophets Of Rage just released a new song called “Heart Afire” from the band’s upcoming second studio album.

Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor has explained his decision to market the band’s new studio effort, Bad Witch, as an LP when its length suggests it’s an EP. Reznor told Kerrang! magazine, “The decision to call it an LP was a very unsexy one on our part. I hadn’t really thought about the whole thing of streaming services and where it pops up, and suddenly it’s, ‘Oh, now they’re hidden down with the singles and bootlegs and bulls**t at the bottom.’”
Reznor added, “What is an EP, anyway? No one could answer. Well, f**k it, let’s call it an LP. Let’s not charge any more, it’s not a scam to rip people off, but let’s just have it up here instead of down there.”
Bad Witch contains six songs and clocks in at just over 30 minutes — not enough to qualify as a true LP. He said on a fan forum back in May, “EPs show up with singles in Spotify and other streaming services = they get lost easier. EPs feel less important in today’s music-isn’t-as-important-as-it-once-was world. Why make it easier to ignore? We’re not charging any more for it so why get worked up about it?”
Bad Witch arrived last month and is the third in a series of records that Nine Inch Nails has issued over the past two years, including 2016’s Not The Actual Events and 2017’s Add Violence.
