Greetings Radicals! Here’s a music news update for you:
EXCLUSIVE: @MarilynManson defends himself against allegations of rape. https://t.co/J4YieMw6Gb
— The Blast (@TheBlastNews) August 10, 2018
According to court documents, a woman accused Marilyn Manson of sexual assault, stemming from an incident that allegedly took place in 2011. The heavily-redacted document says Manson was acquainted.
Manson’s attorney, Howard E. King, stated, “Under current policy, the Los Angeles County District Attorney must investigate any claim of sexual abuse, no matter how outlandish. It is not surprising that the District Attorney, after investigation, summarily rejected the claims made in a police report, filed by a former acquaintance against Brian Warner p/k/a Marilyn Manson. The allegations made to the police were and are categorically denied by Mr. Warner. And are either completely delusional or part of a calculated attempt to generate publicity for the claimant’s business of selling Manson memorabilia.”
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the Los Angeles District Attorney investigated Manson on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery, and rape. The two assault charges were not filed because the statute of limitations had run out.
A new single from Alice In Chains has been released. “Never Fade” is the third release from the upcoming album, Rainier Fog. The new single, as well as 2 other songs can be downloaded now if you pre-order the album. This marks their third recording with producer Nick Raskulinecz – who’s currently in the studio producing Korn.
Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan recently wrote an Alice In Chains bio to accompany the release. In part he said, “This is a band to cherish and be thankful to have as our own. Our living and breathing gauge of what is right – with rock and f***ing roll.”
The released date for the new Alice In Chains album is August 24.
Thanks to Twitter, we know that Korn bandmembers are in the studio working on their next album. Drummer, Ray Luzier posted a photo sitting behind the drum kit and hashtagged it with “Music City.” He wrote: “Great day of tracking at Rock Falcon Studios.” The hashtags on the post also revealed that the photo was taken by the band’s guitarist, James Shaffer and the album is being produced by Nick Raskulinecz.
Korn’s last record, The Serenity of Suffering,’ was released in 2016 and marked their 12th full-length studio release since forming in 1993.
Earlier this year, frontman Jonathan Davis said the band was planning for the album release, sometime next summer.

The latest tweet from Disturbed mentioned only a date… “8/16/2018.” With a new album already finished, fans online are hoping that means new music on Thursday.
Late last month, they engaged fans with this comment: “The new album includes many styles of music. Since our last album and the recent footage from the studio, we’ve seen a lot of discussion about the evolution of our new music. Disturbed Ones, we have decided to embrace the debate. For our next single – what kind of sound do you want it to be?”
According to The PRP.com, “heavy” won by a significant amount.
In a recent interview, Nothing More’s Jonny Hawkins said their new hit single, Just Say When,” is probably the “softest song” they’ve ever released, calling it “raw and honest.” He said, “We almost threw the song away — we almost didn’t even put it on the record, because it was a little out of left field for us.”
Hawkins went on to say how personal it is to him: “The focus of my life at the time we were working on the record… in my personal life, I was really tied up with an eight-year relationship that I was in, that had ended. It was a girl I had met when my mother was passing away, so there was a lot of complicated disentanglements through that process, and kind of a rebuilding process. This song came out of that.”
The single is from the multi-Grammy winning album, The Stories We Tell Ourselves, which came out last September.
