Good morning Radicals! Here’s a fresh dose of music news to start your day:
Ozzy Osbourne took an unexpected shower from a foam sprayer while onstage performing a cover of Black Sabbath‘s “War Pigs” during his August 30th show in Allentown, PA. You can watch him unexpectedly stand over the erupting foam sprayer in the below fan-filmed footage.
At around 1:09 in Osbourne can be seen spraying both himself and the audience with the hose. It would appear that he failed to properly close the valve for it however as he later found out while standing over it at around 2:16 in. Osbourne is currently out on this North American leg of his final world tour. The trek won’t spell the end of Osbourne performing live however, rather he intends to step away from full-fledged tours afterwards. (Thanks PRP!)
We tried to get a hold of him for this gig—as many times as we tried to contact Kurt, we couldn’t get through. The phone just kept ringing & ringing. Kurt does not have email. In fact I have never emailed him in my life and I have been online since 1993. https://t.co/HTpvvhxzr1

Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic took to Twitter to fire back at those who were unhappy of the surviving members’ recent live reunion at a Foo Fighters show in Seattle this past weekend. If you missed it, Novoselic joined the Foo Fighters, who feature his past Nirvana bandmates Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, for a cover of The Vaselines‘ “Molly’s Lips“—a song Nirvana themselves covered early on in their career. Seems internet comments can suck the joy out of anything. Why not enjoy the show instead?
Slash and his solo band, MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS, will be the musical guests on the Wednesday, September 12 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The band will perform several songs on the show’s outdoor stage in front of a standing-room-only crowd.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. and features a diverse lineup of guests that include celebrities, athletes, musical acts, comedians and human interest subjects, along with comedy bits and a house band.
Slash‘s new album, “Living The Dream”, will be released on September 21 via his own label Snakepit Records. It is Slash‘s fourth solo album and third since putting together the CONSPIRATORS, which also features singer Myles Kennedy, drummer Brent Fitz, bassist Todd Kerns and guitarist Frank Sidoris. The group’s North American headlining tour begins September 13 in Los Angeles, visiting 20 major cities before ending on October 14 in Sacramento. You can see all those stops on the Road Rage page.
STONE SOUR RELEASE ‘MERCY” VIDEO: Stone Sour recently re-issued their 2017 album, Hydrograd, as Hydrograd Deluxe Edition on August 31st. The new edition features an acoustic version of “Mercy,” unreleased covers, b-sides, live recordings and alternate versions of Hydrograd songs. Stone Sour is currently opening for Ozzy Osbourne on the North American leg of his No More Tours 2 tour.
System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian was in the studio mixing some rock tracks this weekend. He posted an Instagram photo with the caption, “A weekend of mixing . . . Mixing coffee to finalize the perfect blend for @kavatcoffee espresso blend and mixing some rock songs for a future release.” Unfortunately for System of a Down fans the projects will most likely turn up on his solo EP as the band is still having creative differences. Despite the creative difference, System of a Down, is still able to perform as a collective and they’ve got four shows coming up. You can see those on the Road Rage page.
Finally we’d like to wish a Happy Birthday to Prophets of Rage (and Rage Against the Machine, and Audioslave) drummer Brad Wilk! He shares a birthday with the late, great Freddie Mercury. Have a splendid day all!
