Good morning Radicals! Here’s what’s up in music news today:
Limp Bizkit fans rejoice! The band is set to work on their long-awaited sixth album. Wes Borland announced via Instagram, “Getting warmed up to actually make a brand new @limpbizkit album. We would have started last Saturday but were displaced by the fires and lost some gear. Getting back on our feet and in the studio within the week.” As previously reported, Fred Durst lost his SoCal home in the wildfires, while Borland lost several pieces of musical equipment.
Limp Bizkit’s last effort Gold Cobra was released seven years ago. Since then, they released four singles and promised to release a full length collection of new material called Stampede of the Disco Elephants, but it never happened.
Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes revealed via social media that he was hit by a car on Tuesday (November 13th). As a result, he suffered a concussion and wasn’t able to travel to Paris for the third anniversary of the terror attacks at the Bataclan theatre. He wrote to his fans, “Today is November 13 … in this day for the last three years, I was with my brothers and sisters in Paris, France and I planned for this year to be no different. I bought my ticket and I was ready to leave. But I took a ride on my bike and I was hit from behind and thrown head in the car in front of me. I do not anything to interfere with my impending trip to Paris, I played it as if I was not hurt”
He continued, “….a day later, on my way to San Diego to see Morrissey I fell into the effects of a concussion and had to go to the emergency room … I was examined and diagnosed with a deep whiplash and said that I could not fly for five days … at the time, it seemed like a reasonable logic… and of course, I knew that everyone would understand … but I made a mistake, I should be there with you … I should have boarded the plane because … I do not know where to be right now … I do not know where I’m supposed to be … except with you in Paris.”
He added, “I love you and I am bound to you by blood and I should be with you and it will be the biggest mistake I ever made … I need to be with you and I made a big mistake if someone has a chance and you see the mayor of Paris and the President of France do you want to give them a hug for me and inform them that I love them and that their leadership and her kindness and your demonstration of love so deeply influenced me and that I’m sorry for not being there, I’m so sorry my friends …. I think I’m writing this in French because I really do not know what to do. I do not know.”
Disturbed singer David Dramain hasn’t been on Twitter in three years — and he has no plan to go back to the social media platform. Dramain told Loudwire that nowadays, he isn’t able to keep in contact with fans like he used to. He explained, “No, I can’t on the same level, by any means, and it’s unfortunate. It’s also a matter of just pure numbers. Once it got to a point where I could no longer handle it in terms of sheer volume and size, it became a daunting thing — it became something that actually came between me and my wife; I spent so much time on it.”
He continued, “The water has been poisoned for quite some time as far as interaction is concerned. Social media has become a high school playground where the challenge is what idiot can come up with the best insult, and do you end up congratulating ’em for it. It’s really sad. Either that or people just pushing their own respective ideas on everyone, trying to shove everything down everybody else’s throats, and so much elitism and so much lack of camaraderie and lack of unity. It’s become a very, very ugly thing.”
When asked if he would rejoin Twitter, Draiman said, “No, never. I’m never returning to Twitter.”
Back in August, Draiman admitted in an interview that he doesn’t have an official presence on Twitter, he still uses the platform “as a news tool.”

Bring Me the Horizon‘s latest album That’s The Spirit has earned them one billion streams. The band went on Twitter to thank their fans for the huge accomplishment. They posted a video, along with the simple caption, “thank you.”
That’s The Sprit is the band’s fifth album. The project debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and on the UK album chart.
The band will release their sixth album Amo on January 11th, 2019.
The first pics of Slipknot‘s Sid Wilson aka DJ Starscream from his role of “John” in the new horror comedy The Midnight Snack has been released. In order to play the role, Sid had to cover all of his tattoos, including his trademark gas mask face tat. He also had to dye his hair brown, which is very different from his distinct red mohawk. He is also dressed in white and 50’s denim. The Midnight Snack is set to be released next month.
P.O.D. has opened up about their upcoming album Circles. Frontman Sonny Sandoval says the album title has several meanings. He explained, “Part of the thought was, ‘Man, is this new beginning for P.O.D., or is the beautiful end?’ We’re 25 years in this game. We’ve been there, done that, seen it all. Nowadays you’ve got to tour 13 months out of the year just to make a living. Our families are getting older. We’re getting older. Everyone goes through their own personal stuff. So we’re just trying to make the right decisions.” He continued, “But I’m stoked that it’s been this long and we’re still out here and still love each other and still like being together.” Circles is due out tomorrow (November 16th).
Finally, we’d like to wish a Happy Birthday to Chad Kroeger of Nickelback! Have a great day!
