Happy New Year to all our wonderful fans! Hope you all celebrated with Lou’s Year-End review! It was an action-packed show full of the best moments of 2018!
If you were lucky enough to be in LA for New Years Eve, you may have been at a little shindig called OZZFEST! The show starred the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, along with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Jonathan Davis of Korn and Body Count! The above video show Zombie and Manson, along with MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx performing a cover of The Beatles‘ “Helter Skelter.” What a night!
After thanking fans for a successful 2018, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor posted the official audio for “Outside,” a song from the soundtrack of Bird Box. He wrote: “Between the record and tour it really felt pretty great from my perspective. Nothing is taken for granted and I appreciate you coming along for the ride.”
Despite being labeled the “abridged” version, the instrumental runs almost 13 minutes. The song by Reznor and Atticus Ross is featured on the Netflix smash hit that stars Sandra Bullock. It’s a horror story about monsters that can only kill you if you see them. The flick set a Netflix record of more than 45 million accounts watching it within its first week. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, the soundtrack was the only interesting thing about the movie!
Heart singer Ann Wilson has released a music video for her cover of Audioslave’s “I Am The Highway.” She recorded the song as a tribute to singer Chris Cornell, as part of her “Immortal” album. The album also includes covers of classic songs from David Bowie, Tom Petty, Glenn Frey, Amy Winehouse, and others.
Speaking about the song, Wilson said “The Audioslave number is my favorite Chris Cornell song. It’s just all about, I’m not the thing, I’m the bigger thing, I’m not your magic carpet ride in the sky. It’s a really great song. It has a lot of particular meaning to me because Chris was my friend. The words in ‘I Am The Highway’ talk about dissatisfaction, and alienation, and someone who is just on their way. They’re not going to hang out with the friends and liars.”
Not much else to report on right now, so here’s hoping you’re not into day two of a hangover! Have a great day!
