Metallica fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage after the pre-sale for the band’s upcoming “S&M2” show with the San Francisco Symphony ended within seconds due to bots grabbing all the available tickets.
Members of Metallica’s fan club were supposed to be given the opportunity to buy tickets a few days early, but it was reported that tickets began showing up instantly at StubHub before fans had a chance to view their pre-sale opportunity.
Fans reported signing in at exactly 9:00 a.m. PT and being unable to purchase a single ticket, while tickets went on sale at StubHub via resellers at prices ranging from $300 to $16,000 for one ticket.
The one-off September 6th event will see Metallica join forces with the orchestra for the first time in two decades for the opening of San Francisco’s new Chase Center arena. Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony last played together in 1999, at a concert that was recorded and filmed for the S&M album and DVD.

Blink-182‘s commercial breakthrough album, Enema Of The State, turns 20 years old this June and the trio intends to perform the LP in its entirety to celebrate. Asked by a fan on Twitter if the group had any anniversary plans for the record, bassist Mark Hoppus replied, “Yes, I think we’re going to play EOTS in its entirety at Back to the Beach to celebrate 20yrs.”
Back To The Beach is a two-day festival taking place in Huntington Beach, California on April 27th and 28th. The event is co-presented by Blink drummer Travis Barker and so far is the only confirmed date at which Blink will run through Enema Of The State front to back.
Of course, the lineup that recorded the disc won’t be the one performing it live, with guitarist Tom DeLonge out of the band for three years now and Matt Skiba taking his place.
Enema Of The State was Blink’s third studio LP and arrived on June 1st, 1989. It marked the debut of Barker on drums following the departure of original member Scott Raynor. It sold 15 million copies worldwide and generated the massive hit singles “What’s My Age Again?” “All The Small Things” and “Adam’s Song.”
Stone Temple Pilots singer Jeff Gutt has revealed to Detroit radio station WRIF that the band is working on an acoustic record. Gutt explained that the disc will feature “some extra musicians and some extra parts and pieces,” and will be recorded later in the year.
He added, “I’m not sure how long it’s gonna be yet. We’re just getting into it, the writing of it, and we’re gonna be recording it here in little spurts, when we can. And it’s gonna be awesome, man. It’s gonna be a totally different side of STP.”
The quartet played a rare acoustic show at the Norwood Space Center in Norwood, Massachusetts three months ago.
The acoustic disc will be Gutt’s second with STP after joining the band in 2017. His recording debut with the group was on its self-titled seventh album, which arrived in March 2018. Gutt is the band’s third lead vocalist, following the late Scott Weiland and the late Chester Bennington.
Ozzy Osbourne‘s son Jack took to his Instagram over the weekend to post a video of his daughters — three-year-old Andy Rose, six-year-old Pearl Clementine and 13-month-old Minnie Theodora — performing “Crazy Train” for their grandfather. Ozzy’s wife and Jack’s mother, Sharon Osbourne, shared the clip on Tuesday’s (March 19th) episode of her CBS daytime show The Talk, saying, “They did that to make their papa feel better.”
Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan has released “Chip Away,” a track from his upcoming solo album, Tenderness. Like the LP’s title track, “Chip Away” is available as an instant download when pre-ordering the album ahead of its May 31st release. Also available for pre-order is a special limited-edition Tenderness deluxe hardcover book, which includes the album on 180-gram yellow-and-red starburst vinyl, the CD, and an exclusive lithograph signed and numbered by McKagan.
That’s a wrap, have a great day!
