Welcome to a new week! A new opportunity to make some good in the world. Lets start with a look at what’s happening in the rock and roll universe:
Mike Shinoda has released the video for his new single, “Open Door.” The clip shows how he created the song during his daily Twitch livestreams, and it stars the fans he selected to join him on the track.
“Open Door” is included on Shinoda’s new solo project, Dropped Frames Vol.1, which was released on Friday (July 10th). The Linkin Park member created all the songs with the assistance of his fans on Twitch.
Shinoda told NME, “The collection of songs is a highlight reel of the tracks I make on the channel, but a big part of the experience is the stream itself. When I start, I usually have very little idea of where it will go. What comes out is a product of the viewers’ suggestions, my spur-of-the-moment ideas, and whatever inexplicable magic is floating in between.”
Dropped Frames Vol.1 is the followup to Shinoda’s 2018 solo project, Post Traumatic.
We’re very excited to announce the Better Noise Music Festival, which will benefit @GlobalRecovery3. Tune in to the livestream event on July 16th at 6pm EST! #BNMFest

Motley Crue, Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach will headline the “Better Noise Music Festival”, an online event set to take place on July 16th.
The event will be broadcast from Better Noise Music’s YouTube and Facebook pages at 6 p.m. EST and will benefit the Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation.
Organizers tell antiMusic, “While the world is wondering what unexpected event will befall us next, Better Noise is kickstarting the summer with a virtual music festival that will feature some of the biggest names in rock music.”
The event will also feature Awolnation, Cory Marks, Dirty Heads, The Hu, Bad Wolves, Escape The Fate, From Ashes To New, Fire From The Gods, Bleeker, Tuk Smith, Islander, All Good Things, Hyro The Hero, Eva Under Fire, Nevrlands, Little Stranger, Tempt, The Bottom Line, and Thousand Thoughts.
Judas Priest has cancelled its 2020 tour — but has begun rolling out dates for 2021, according to Rolling Stone. The band posted a statement, which reads, “We have every intention of adding more shows and cities to our 50th-anniversary tour in the fall of 2021 — as soon as we have the new dates finalized, we will announce them.”
Priest was originally set to kick off its 2020 dates on September 11th in Uniondale, New York, with the 11-date trek running through October 11th in Salt Lake City, Utah. As it stands now, the band will launch its 2021 tour on September 13th in Charlotte, North Carolina at PNC Music Pavilion, with the dates winding down on October 30th in Ledyard, Connecticut at Foxwoods Casino Arena.
Frontman Rob Halford told us a while back that Priest wouldn’t have sustained such a lengthy career without the support of their fans: “It’s an ongoing metal love affair that’s been solid and kept us going and motivated, quite frankly. Bands don’t exist without the people that support them, and so it is with Priest, y’know? Without our fans we’re nothing, so we love our fans dearly, and we do as much as we can to keep that bond strong and solid.”
That’s a wrap, hope you have a wonderful day!
