Man, oh man. Pulse of Radio reports the neighbor whose patio Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin allegedly trashed with a sledgehammer and buzzsaw, leading to his arrest on Wednesday (July 24th), says problems with Scantlin have been “going on for a few months,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. The neighbor is electro-pop recording artist Sasha Gradiva, who said, “This has been going on for a while, a few months. I didn’t really want to talk about it. I just focus on my music, but yesterday was just completely ridiculous.” Scantlin allegedly used the saw to vandalize Gradiva’s patio before taking the sledgehammer to a wall between their two properties. Scantlin reportedly claims that the wall has been built on his side of the property line. Released later on Wednesday after being booked on charges of felony vandalism, Scantlin told TMZ, “My neighbor vandalized my house, so I had to take action.” Asked why he used a saw, Scantlin replied, “It’s called a sledgehammer, dawg.” Gradiva claims that Scantlin has attacked her home, which is under construction, at least 10 times, saying, “I called the police multiple times. Every time, he would run into his house and lock the doors and he wouldn’t open them . . . but yesterday they got him.” The singer said she thinks Scantlin is jealous of the view from her patio, which sits in line with his roof. Gradiva said that Scantlin has erected things like a tent and a giant flag on his roof to block her view. Gradiva, who is currently not living in the house, admitted that a small piece of her patio “goes behind the view line between our properties,” but added. “I didn’t do that. I bought the house with this patio . . . I don’t know why he decided to bother me because the previous owner, they didn’t have any issues.” Gradiva said she’s pursuing a restraining order against Scanlin after the damage to her property, and may sell the house if the situation is not resolved quickly. The incident is the latest in a series of legal hassles and arrests for Scantlin, who was taken into custody twice this past May alone — once for warrants stemming from a 2012 cocaine possession bust, and a second time for domestic violence. Oy vey!….I posted the venues for the upcoming Avenged Sevenfold tour with Deftones and Ghost BC. Unfortunately, they aren’t coming up to my neck of the woods. Damn! So that means, they will probably just before holidays or right after. If I were a betting girl, I’d say January… .Good ole Corey Taylor. Seems like he’s a veritable fountain of creativity 24/7! Now that he’s published his second non-fiction book, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Heaven (Or, How I Made Peace With The Paranormal And Stigmatized Zealots And Cynics In The Process), the Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman told us what his third and fourth books might be: “I think my third book, I’ve been writing a column, a monthly column, for a magazine called Rock Sound in the UK for about 12 years now, and I’m thinking about putting together a collection of my favorite columns from there and just kind of putting that out. And that would allow me enough time to work on a novel, which I actually have a really good idea for a novel, and just kind of try my hand at fiction and see what happens.” Corey, have you ever heard of “vacation”?….Pulse also reports Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor discussed the inspiration behind the band’s new album, Hesitation Marks, in an extensive new interview with the New York Times. Reznor said that he is proud of the first NIN record in five years, adding, ” What fear I had — of ‘What does Nine Inch Nails have to say in 2013?’ — this is it. I don’t feel like it’s trying to force something into the wrong container.” Reznor said the Sep 3rd release was inspired by NIN’s classic 1994 effort, The Downward Spiral, explaining, “I felt very aware that it’s 20 years later, and I’m still that guy. I know that guy, and I feel for him. I don’t resent him, I don’t miss him. But how would things feel on the other side of that now, in a much more stable life place, mentally and physically, and with a new family?” Reznor cautioned there are differences with The Downward Spiral, saying, “I don’t really even raise my voice on this album that much. The mechanism of screaming choruses doesn’t exist here . . . It’s not about everything being at 11 and the pyrotechnics of sound and scare tactics, which I’ve definitely used in the past. But it doesn’t feel like the middle-aged, I’ve-given-up record either.” (editor’s note: Oh man!) Reznor also revealed Nine Inch Nails will be using one version of its live show for this summer’s festival dates, before debuting a completely different production for its fall headlining trek, which begins on Sep 28th in St. Paul, MN. Here’s a video from the band’s first live performance at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival….Here’s the link to that band I was mentioning to you from Austin called Not In The Face. I kinda dig their tune “Brass Tacks.” Their album, which they are raising money via PledgeMusic.com to fund, is being produced by Bob Ezrin and Gggarth Richardson in Vancouver. Be listening to hardDrive the weekend of Aug 10th to hear the tune. I will be curious to know what you think of it!…..You’d think Justin Foley would be that guy to break something riding a Harley or something, but no. He broke his collarbone on, yes, a simple bicycle! Bummer, dude! So for the upcoming Killswitch Engage Asia/Europe tour, Jordan Mancino of As I Lay Dying will be sitting on the stool behind his kit. Hope Justin mends quickly…..And finally today, Alice In Chains have posted the video for their lyric video for “Voices.”…Celebrating birthdays: Today: Mick Jagger turns 70!!??? That’s insane! Roger Taylor of Queen is 64. Saturday, Abe Cunningham of the Deftones is 40, A-Rod turns 38 and Triple H will be 44. Sunday, my other brother from another mother Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach turns 37….Have a great weekend! I’m headed to the Jersey Shore!
